Golfing with an AP

Does anyone do it? I have a 15707CE and I was going to golf with it but wasn’t sure if the forces would be harmful on the watch. Maybe I should just get a Bubba Watson Richard Mille lol

I just can't wear a watch while golfing, don't get it. You're probably fine in doing so bit not for me.

I wouldn't recommend playing golf with your AP.

I think the impact will be harmful to your watch's movement. It may work out for a time, but eventually you will damage it.

I would not. I had my power reserve take a crap after playing volleyball with my 26400IO. I can’t say for certain it was related but I assume so. I’ve played with my Rolex before no problem though.

i wouldn't. No matter if the AP golf ambassadors do. Its asking for trouble.

I guarantee its worse for your watch for sure than taking a 50M RO in the pool and everyone is paranoid of that.

I’ve mogul skied with mine for 4 years but I’m not sure how those impacts compare to a golf swing.

I wear mine for skiing, that’s totally different to the impact of hitting a golf ball.

The thing is when you’re using your driver your swing is likely to exceed 100mph up to the point of impact with the ball. If you’re happy to wear an expensive watch while that happens then fair enough.

I don't care what time it is when I'm golfing so no watches for me while golfing.

Just be careful leaving it in the cart. Tons of lost watches found on carts.

Another related question: Would it be absolutely OK to wear a Rolex while golfing?

Rolex is thought to have sturdier movements than AP or PP. What do you think?

I would never wear a watch to play golf, the feeling tells me that it would affect my game...

Nothing is absolute. I can tell you I’ve done it several times. If it’s not under warranty I’d prollly refrain.

Yep totally fine in my experience. Did it for years (twice a week) with a Green Submariner and never had a single issue with the watch. Now I just wear a golf watch for yardages etc.

I always wear a watch on the Golf course. No issues so far. Neither with Rolex nor with AP.

Hans

Good to hear first hand experience of this not causing damage !

The G forces involved at the club face will be that much greater than at your hands in golf, so it does make sense from that perspective.

one of the members at my club wears a gold sub all day everyday, including golfing. i can't do it, feels too weird on my wrist. Mine goes straight into the watch bag, and in the golf bag. However, we recently had a golf bag stolen at our club so I'm a bit nervous now. For me, i would rather wear the AP than stick it in my bag at a public course. Too expensive to feel comfortable leaving it out of sight IMO.

Think Jordan needs to switch to AP, maybe then he'd finish off some more Majors.

Jack Nicklaus had ONE rolex and he always took it off and placed it in his golf bag prior to playing. interview on youtube about that ONE watch. rolex prob whispered to him when they gave him the watch, "sppsss, dont golf with this watch, just put it on AFTER you win the tournament."

That would be club head speed, not hand speed. And I am willing to bet, most on here probably wouldn't even have club head speed over 100mph.

Either way, I wouldnt wear one just because it would be uncomfortable, especially a large offshore.
