Hard to tell if it's fake without a couple of photos of your watch. What make you think it's fake?

The serial number should be 8 characters long and include any set of numbers and letters. Post images of your watch if you have concerns.

If it was a present from "years ago" it may not be a 116610.

Bought without papers? Serial is too short. When they were still using letters like M,V,Z they had 7 digits. Scrambled serials are 8 digits as stated above. Can you take some high resolution pictures? We can help regardless of the serial by just having a look.

TT references are: 16613LN for black and 16613LB for blue.
Newer TT: 116613LN black and 116613LB blue

An X serial Sub would be from 1991 and have 7 digits. Is it X41900 or X041900? Also would not have engraved rehaut (Rolex, Rolex, Rolex). Would also have the older style bracelet.

That watch does not have an engraved rehaut. If it was issued before the engraved rehaut the serial number should be on the case at the 6 o'clock position. X41900 is not a valid Rolex serial number. Rolex made 'X' serial numbers in 1991, but they had 6 digits following. Furthermore, a quick search on that serial number shows a lot of responses. It shows up on many fake watches.

Also, the dial is off. Sorry. Hope you didn't pay too much for it.

edit: I also noticed this case has an 18K hallmark. No Explorer was made in Gold. Funny how the engraving says 'Stainless Steel' with a gold hallmark.

It says “stainless steel” between the lugs and “18K” on the back of the lug. I hope it was inexpensive.

Guess that the lower left lug is 18k Hope that it was cheap, and thereby a limited loss

Why should it be 8 random serial number?
Starts with a X and no other letters we can see looks 1991-1993??

The watch in the pictures is unquestionably counterfeit.

I don't think the OP has posted pictures yet.

The op's first post stated he had an 116610. Could have been a 7 digit serial but pretty sure 6 digit Subs never started with the letter X. Weren't they G and V before the random 8 digit started?
