Icon14 Fell In Love With The Pam 286

I met up with HKperf (John) today for lunch and a little GTG in Seattle to do some watch shopping and he took me to his hot spot for Panerai's. I've never tried on any before so it was a real treat and a huge eye opener for me to find that I like like the Pannies as much or more than Rolex! This is gonna put a huge dent in my wallet now, much more so than ever before now that I seem to be instantly addicted to these awesome horological wonderments.

Well enough of the mumbo jumbo, on to my first love in the world of all that is Pam..........The 2007 Special Edition Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 286.

This was literally love at first sight for me! I tried on every other Panerai in the case but this was the one that instantly sung, smiled, jumped cartwheels, got up in my face and slapped me around a bit and rocked my world folks!! I new I had to have it and was ready to slap the 13.7K plus tax down on the table and walk out with it right then and there but John took control and pulled me out of there for some fresh air, a Tully's coffee and a huge dose of common sense.

What I mostly mean is he was thinking discount while I wasn't really thinking to well at all. So we went back in the shop and John, being the previous customer and all, whittled the guy down to 12K and some change. Got the guy to agree to ship it out of State to avoid the $1,200 in sales tax and ship it free no less!

So next week I should be sportin' me self my first Panerai ever..........And definitely not my last...........Thanks to the 270 I happened to gaze upon online...............Oh the madness.............!!!

John and I had a great time and it wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't found this wonderful place we call TRF!!

The CF strap looks awesome. I have an aftermarket CF strap and it goes very well with my 104.

It comes with a rubber strap as well which is very comfy!

And eventually I want to find a strap like this one which I think looks the best:

Welcome to the darkside!! The 286 is just awesome.

There really is something about PAMs that hit just the right chord.

Big congrats buddy and wonderful score.
