Own Pam 372 AND Pam 422???

I have a Pam 372 which I feel is one of the most beautiful watches ever made. No plans to let this go and I have lots of straps for it. I also have the wrists for 47MM and its ME if that makes sense. Thinking of adding a 422. Minute hands, power reserve, slightly different dial, sapphire crystal and would be interchangeable with my straps for the 372.

Crazy to own both watches that to many people are so similar?

Not at all crazy, and if that's what rocks your boat most, go for it. Like you said, there are plenty of differences.

That being said, if I were looking at another 47mm to pair with my 372, I probably would look for greater differentiation. It would be more fun for me, and would preserve the 372's aesthetic in my collection. So, maybe a submersible (305, 1305, 389, 1389) or a colored dial (690, 737). 530 would be pretty sweet, too.

Ah, yes, the BMG! For sure.

I'm also a big fan of the 526, just not sure about how many straps can be matched to it.

Only 50? Last time I looked in Mrs Van Driver's wardrobe, I thought I was married to a millipede!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I don't see why you can't have a 372 and a 422; I have two Submariners and some here have an awful lot more of one type than that. Trace has about a dozen Daytonas so if it's what you want then go for it.

Only thing I will say is that I'd hang fire for a little while. If you have your eye on a Submersible also then probably best to try both on and then sleep on it. Post some wrist shots here too, we'll happily spend your money for you

Own Pam 372 AND Pam 422???

I have a 372 and also love the 422. I think it's fine to own both. The Luminor dial is quite different and has its own history. And you can make one more dressy with a smart crocodile strap and give the other more of a tool watch aesthetic.

I own a 422 and really like the watch. I chose it for the second hand and the sapphire crystal. I like the 372 but for me a second hand is a must. I would not own two similar watches. There are so many other great options that I do not own. The 690 is a beautiful watch but at another price point and hard to find. I would look to the divers, 305, 389, 1305 and maybe an old school 194. All are 47 mm so the strap game is easy. Good luck in your hunt.

No problem with adding a 422 to your 372. My only advice would be to be sure you've checked out all the options (e.g., you may want to add a wired lug Radiomir or 1940, like a 662/3).

Exactly what I mean, three completely different watches there. Many would disagree.

Also useful when you sneak on into the collection and the trouble & strife doesn't click you have a new watch… J

They've had ongoing problems with this material, which is basically coated aluminum. That's what I hear, so I don't wear it everyday
