I was hoping to get a replacement bracelet for my 16750 from Rolex during servicing.

Will the replace bracelet be made of 904 or 316?

I understand 'steelinox' means 316, and oystersteel means 904.. but it appears that the service bracelets I have seen all say 'steelinox' but are sometimes described as 904. Does anyone know for sure ?

I ask this because I have a contact allergy to the 904 but not the 316 steel...

They have been using 904L since 1985, so I suggest getting an older bracelet.

For the Sea-Dweller, but I don’t think 904L made it into the oyster bracelets until circa 2006-07.

Not sure of the details but 1985 is what it says on Rolex's website.

I would ask RSC to be really sure.
904L and 316L both are stainless steels.

The higher Ni content of 904L is one difference, which can cause allergic reactions.

"Oystersteel" (904L) is just a marketing name by Rolex.

Thanks. Yes and I think Steelinox is the marketing name for 316.
The newer bracelets still say steelinox.. so its confusing.

They don't work in 316L now - so all service 93150/78360s etc for years are 904L - you can feel it when you open the packet.... it is a less warm / more scratch resistant dense feel from the increased (by 50%) Molybdenum and Nickel (by 50%) and Chromium (by just 15%).

Acierinox could be French, but that sounds strange.
