I always said that gold doesn't suit me, well that changed today...

My Mom was here this morning and asked me if I could look for a nice gold or gold capped watch for her since her current watch broke down.(no Omega.. :wink: )

I showed her my gold capped 50's Seamaster on a aweful blue strap.
Nice she said, very nice but a bit too big for me....

So we searched the WWW together and I strapped the Seamaster on my wrist.

And then it struck me......what a GORGEOUS watch, and it looks GREAT on my wrist...

Went into Town right after my mother left our house and bought the Seamaster a nice strap...

And a wrist shot..

The size is just right...

In love again..

This is mine, Omega cal 30.10RA circa 1946 (61 years old) The actual movement is a little tarnished (must have been water ingresion at sometime, but it runs like a new watch!

I don't know that much about Omega's but, I have learned this. Just about everything they make is called a Seamaster. Confusing to say the least.

Not all are named Seamaster guys, there are also Railmasters, Speedmasters, Constellations,Geneve's, Cosmic's, Deville's, Century's and not too forget the Flightmasters...

The same reason as Anonimo and Panerai (both dedicated dive watches) which also come with leather straps.

Yours is not to question why, but buy the bloody watch and wear it.

I was being facetious but also somewhat serious... I had a buddy who bought a white faced Seamaster Pro. After inspecting and handling it a bit, I mistakenly thought I had a handle on what a Seamaster was. On further investigation, I soon realized there are many variants. Add in the historical timeline and, indeed, there have been many versions of the Seamaster. You have to admit, there's been the Seamaster, Seamaster Pro, Seamaster Aqua Terra, Seamaster DeVille, Seamaster 120m, Seamaster Pro Chrono, Seamaster Pro GMT, Seamaster 'Bond', Seamaster Omega-matic, not including various anniversary models, etc. I don't mean to be insulting but... indeed there are a lot of Seamasters.

To add to the confusion, during the late 1960s to early 1970s Omega made some Speedmasters with Seamaster casebacks. These watches are totally legit, but why Omega did that we'll never understand.

I have one such vintage:
A Speedmaster MK III

with a Seamaster caseback

Trying to figure out Omega, would be almost as difficult as trying to figure out Rolex. I think both companies have some serious dope smoking going on at times in their design rooms.
