My First Omega Speedmaster, Now A Big Fan

My first speedmaster arrived and I immediately removed the still dressed in plastic pristine bracelet and put on a B&R leather rally strap. Love the retro look but in a brand new watch. I have heard mixed reviews from dealing with Jamashop but my experience so far was great ! Watch is new pristine, overnight delivery $4500 for a saphire sandwich. I have owned several stainless steel submariners and two tone subs . , two tone GMT, stainless steel GMT black bezel and Batman, rose gold Daytona, yellow gold day date etc. , point being
I’ve been a Rolex guy never even considering a omega. I had nothing against omega, I have also owned Panerai and Breitling in my watch collection but for some reason never an omega. I have really been turned off by Rolex crazy price gouging with the fake shortage so I am moving away from the brand maybe permanently if I can’t buy a watch at msrp . With 50 th anniversary of the moon landing I started reading about the speedmaster . I have to say , a style that has withstood time. So I have mine now. While I know it’s not a certified chronometer, it’s not really waterproof (that’s what my sub. is for), it’s a manual wind with a 48 hr power reserve, I’m ok with it because I love the Saphire back , I love that it looks exactly the same as the watch worn on Apollo 11, I love the special versions that come out like the two speedy Tuesday’s but most important I love that I can buy one and still get a good deal.

5 bars water resistance is good enough for a ricing watch

Glad you're happy with your new Speedmaster Pro. You're probably aware, but most people who have left Earth to travel in space since the Apollo missions have also worn the Speedmaster Pro. Just do a google search of images from Space Shuttle missions or from the International Space Station, and you'll see this watch strapped to nearly every person on those missions, too.

Enjoy your Omega!

I love my Zenith Daytona, but the Speedmaster is the quintessential sports chronograph.

Looks great! Any additional pics of the new strap? I'm on the search and I really like that one. What exact color is that? Thanks in advance...enjoy the watch!

I have my Speedy on a Omega Rally Strap. To me it is the best combo for that watch. I will track down a photo and post.
