5370P is the greatest patek since the 5970P imho. Anyone who has either is one lucky dog in my book

Interesting. Has Patek ever done a dial with platinum that wasn't black or blue?

Brian I am sure we can get you some proper attention the next time you come to HK and want to visit a Patek AD. Many of the big pieces that you are talking about are available fairly freely in HK at the moment as the mainland purchasing remains muted.

There has been plenty of platinum watches with other color dials. The original 5204P came with a silver dial. The blue/black dial popularity is a relatively modern phenomena. It was rare to see vintage Patek with a black/blue dial.

On the subject of split second chronos, you need to also consider the 5950 and 5951, the monopusher split second chronos. I was offered a brand new 5951 by an AD, but once again I passed. I believe it has been discontinued now.

I am planning to pick up my incoming 5131R around early March in HK. Maybe you can introduce your AD to me. Then we can view all the watches at the same time.

Thanks Roger.

5131 is my favorite watch. I wear my 5131G all the time. I am preparing different color strap for incoming 5131R. I will post a thread when I get my watch.

Could you show me your 5131R thread? I can't find it.

I stopped making threads awhile ago, but luckily I'm wearing it today (and have every other day since I've gotten it) so I can put a picture of it here.

Hmm... It does not appear to be working. If you are interested I can email it to you. Not sure why the pictures won't load. Sorry!

I was hoping so, but the reference wasn't on Patekaholic's list of discontinued pieces. Maybe next year!

Definitely in a class by itself (5370)! Very stunning and worthy of an extreme collection.
Stunning pics of the 5131 too!!!!

Not quite as impressive as the double split in my humble opinion.

Both are beautiful and among the finest made.

though there is value for me in a slimmer and equally complicated movement.
(I do not know the specs between the als and 5370.)

Also a bit more drawn to the less flamboyant decoration in the Patek.

Although, wearing a DS is like having a hockey puck on your wrist. The 5370 is much easier to wear.

I am biased but I prefer the 5370.
