5296g sector or non sector dial?
Hi trf!
Here I am again missing my calatrava (5196g) and I have decided I plan to get a 5296g later this year. Given that my lineup consists of a 5712, 5164, dd40 green wg, Fp bleu and a sd4k should I go for a sector or non sector 5296g? kf I worry the sector may be too casual for dressy situations but I am more a jeans/shirt type of guy. Thanks trf! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The 5296G with the sector dial is by far my favorite calatrava from the current collection.
Go for it! It will certainly look amazing with blue jeans and a shirt. |

I have never been a fan of sector dials. I prefer the cleaner look.

If you are not against it I would suggest a rose gold one. When I see your box it feels like color lacking. If you don't like colored gold , there is nothing wrong with that.
But if you do , I just saw this watch at my AD a couple of days a go and it looks beautiful in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For a Calatrava, I like the cleaner dial without the sector. It is meant to be a dress watch and the simpler the better.

5296g sector or non sector dial?
Sector between the two, but I prefer this 5196p over both (2nd pic borrowed from the www)

That is a 5196p and is a beautiful Calatrava. I would strongly recommend this over either 5296 if you can.Sector dials definitely take the dress look out of the Calatrava but are great for more casual attire if you can do both.Good luck.

Sticks.... You can dress the watch down with a different colored strap if you think it needs it...

Hands-down sector dial for me. It's much more versatile, and can straddle formal and casual.
And those blued hands! |

5296g sector or non sector dial?
I think you have to know yourself , to make a decision. For me a strict dress watch doesn't last in my stable too long. And even tough is true that the cleaner it is ,the more faithful the watch is to what a real Calatrava should be, that doesn't mean that's what's best for you.
Personally I would buy a Journe CB or something like the Patek sector dial. Which is basically deviating to the concept of the dress watch but it's what makes me happy. So if you know yourself , the decision will be easy for you Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tough choice. If it's a 5296 I have to say I prefer the cleaner dial and my preference is for the r
Or a journe CS in platinum ;) |
