Actually, I didn't think it was that bad.

When you consider the acquisition cost + restoration, it is less than a pre-owned current model (or new) It also comes with a PP warranty.

I have had a few PP's restored, and they are amazing transformations.

I have had several AP's restored to different levels and I think this is very reasonable cost and time - best of luck.

Looking forward to seeing the results. Do you have before / after photos of the previous ones you've had restored?

About what I paid for a recent service on a 2007 997, but that includes tires and TPMSs.

The restoration cost seems quite reasonable. Assuming it is being done in Geneva, the 27 weeks is not that long. Looking forward to seeing it post-restoration

I have actually sent in two PP for service. The estimates are nearly identical. When they return, I have another one I want to send in. Some people upgrade their collection by selling and trading. I upgrade my collection by restoration.

I had a few others that I sent in for restoration, and sadly they were sold. I am now buying pieces I love in less than satisfactory condition and let PP do their magic.

I am looking forward to the restoration results. I have always wondered if the results are worth it. This will be a very interesting thread over the next 6 months.

Interesting approach...awesome that they will do the restoration and not just replace the case, etc. Looking forward to the final product!

Here is the last PP sent to Geneva. Purchased for $4,000, restoration was $3300 and sold two years later for $12,000.

Fascinating. Comparing the before/after, the markers at 12 and 5/7 are swapped. Also, the replacement hands aren't the same shape. Markers are incorrectly placed in the before, but not sure about the hands. Did PP provide information whether the hands were correct for the original condition of the watch?

Can't wait to see this latest when when it comes back.

PP puts the watch back to original. If it has the wrong hands, or crown...it is replaced with the correct.
