Advice Requested on Inherited Oyster Perpetual

We recently inherited my late father-in-law's watch. He purchased it in the 1940s as a new watch, and kept it running well. As my husband and I are both getting on in years, we are considering selling it as a part of overall downsizing. Is it best to offer it for sale as it is, or to send it to Rolex for cosmetic restoration?

I would like to offer photos, but only see where an url is required. The photos are on my computer.

Thank you to all in advance.

If you click the "Go Advanced" button for a reply, you can attach the photos. Just make sure you size them as per the requirements.

We all would like to see the watch before commenting. . .
