Was this recent or before the Nautilus & Aquanut boom?

Do you think they would have done the same if it was Calatrava ????? Just thinking ....

I know for a fact that they do employ phantom shoppers who look for watches (greys in particular) to see where they are sourced. Maybe there.
Did/does this hurt your ability to get new pateks from that AD/rhone

well, i for my part buy whatever PP i like (and can get obviously) and sell what i don't like anymore. in the worst case they do not sell me any more watches, but surely i won't play the 'i am scared s...less of my AD or Rhone or PP' game. if that happens i shall just move on, other makers produce nice watches as well. or i put my watch money into art .... buy a duck-taped banana or something like that:::)))

Customers selling their watches for any reason is good for the overall market. It shows the value of the product if there is a defined market for the used watches. Plus, it creates an avenue for people to obtain scarce watches who do not have long relationships with ADs. The best case for any watch company is to have their watches selling used at or above MSRP. TS has mentioned many times that when buying an expensive watch PP is a brand that will retain its value. PP praises the auction results on their vintage pieces. They do not complain that those folks selling are "flippers." Watch owners are referred to as "collectors". The essence of collecting is to swap around and keep refining and improving a collection which entails selling pieces from time to time.

keep in mind that some high level art pieces look like pre school stuff to the non-initiated:::)))
it is comparable to some RMs looking like high-end swatches.

My explanation was good enough and tes it could hurt if it's a flip and actually the AD Carrie's the brunt of it. As Peter says if that doesnt worry you then buy other brands. I kind of support what they are trying to do and thus play the game as far as possible and comply. I did get a 5164R for someone in august who then wanted to flip it in November. That reflects badly on me as an introduction and the AD if PP found out as they would question the allocation process. The person would also not be allocated scarce pieces by the AD again. Was his call. He sold a 5167 instead

5212A deliveries

INCOMING! Picked up my 5212 today at the PP Salon in Paris, amazing watch dressing up and down, light, simple yet complex...love it!

Second Patek I pick up at the Salon and they always nail the goodies, this time the one and only PP cap and a beautiful « vide poche » (empty pocket) depicting the world taken from an enamel vintage watch dial.

Congratulations! It’s a wonderful watch! It gets better and better. Enjoy. Nice swag, too!

Is this a stainless deployant or white gold?

White gold. I don't think Patek does stainless deployants.

Well, that didn't take long. The previous owner can't have had it for very long.

Wow. Almost as bad a markup as Nautilus and more than Aquanaut.

They are popping up all over the place, 11 on chrono right now. To be honest i'm a bit disappointed that so many Patek owners actually are flippers and going for a 10 or 25k profit when being allowed to buy the special pieces

Serious question...
Is this a short run piece? Or Ltd?

I don’t have one coming and don’t have skin in the game... but just wondering

Damn I really want a 5212A it's absolutely stunning. These are very difficult to get from what my AD told me and they have not gotten many in.
