The biggest difference between the two, aesthetics aside, is how they wear due to the the lug to lug length difference. I would argue the SD43 being longer has a bit better balance since they spread out the weight but the SD4k wears better on my wrist and I feel is a bit more versatile with the smaller size and no cyclops.
