No sh*t. My relationship goes like this: I see the watch I want, I present legal tender, I pay MSRP and I walk out with product.

Anything else is something besides a “relationship.”

Agree 100%. Imagine if we needed to establish this fake relationship with every sales person, damn, buying a pair of jeans would be a pain in the ass.

These games Rolex dealers play.
When I bought a Tudor it was a great experience the dealer even thanked me for my custom. Imagine that, being treated like a customer !

And more ironic is these are supposed to be luxury purchases. Ie…I have enough money to not put up shi@ like this.

In the same league as the Hermes Birkin/Kelly wannabe crowd. When is this going to end?

What is the Rolex and Tudor dealer are one and the same? Mind blown!

Grand Seiko, Tudor, Omega, Breitling, Tag.... you name it they're all gathering dust and no one is there to look at them. The Rolex shelf is empty except for a couple "exhibition" models.

If I buy one of these 2nd tier brands I'll get a discount and as much champagne I care to day-drink. Fact. (Note: Only 2nd tier in terms of marketing, I'm not out to hurt anyone's feelings or start another flame war like the Tudor thread.) Same dealer.

So it's not the dealer per se. It's the product and the leverage they gain. They'll treat you like dirt on one hand but can also treat you like royalty.

I enjoy my relationship with my AD. Nice people who just want to sell watches and really wish they had more inventory available. Not sure this is disingenuous.

Actually, you’re in the “Guppy” category.

Minnow status will be achieved once you spend $10k.

Trout status occurs at $25k.

Shark status occurs at $50k.

Whale status begins at $100k.

But look at the bright side, at least you’re not a first time customer … you know, plankton status.
