Day date dial options

I'm new to Rolex watches so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I'm purchasing a yellow gold 18238 day date double quick set watch. It has a champagne dial with gold sticks. The seller has agreed to change the dial to one I like. I really like a white dial but with Lumi (thick) sticks. The only dial I can find that fits that description is the dial for the newer 118238 model. My question is will the newer model dial fit my watch? I just don't like the extra weight of the 118238 watches.
