Best Rolex Reference for a Flat Wrist?
Fellow TRF’ers,
I have a wish list with my AD, as many of us do. I have a relatively small wrist, and I did not pay much attention to the round vs flat anatomical difference until recently. Are there any models that are particularly better or worse for someone with a flat wrist, wrist circumference aside? I would hate to wait months and months, only to find out that one of my wished-for references is a poor fit. Searching on this topic yielded nothing. Thanks in advance. |

i don't think there's such a thing but flat wrists allow you to wear a bit bigger sizes than otherwise for that same wrist size

Whatever you do, don’t buy something just because the ad or the watch store calls. Get what you really want and I think you;l be very happy in the long run. Cheers! |

In general with flatter wrists you’d want a thinner watch. Like not a deep sea or PO. But if you like them on you, wear what you want

Aside from the DSSD and the SD43 Rolex don't really make a big watch, the others are wearable for most wrist sizes a Sub/GMT/DJ/Daytona are unisex in the their sizing the latter two being under 40mm in size.
A flatter wrist (all things being equal) allows you to wear a larger lug to lug watch without it overhanging compared to an oval wrist of the same diameter however most Rolex are well under 50mm lug to lug so it's not an issue for most people. Of course personal taste plays a big part and some prefer smaller watches and how they sit on the wrist whether they have a 6.5" or 8.5" wrist, my rule is no overhang but I do like the watch to cover my 7.25" oval wrist, I also don't like small dials which is another aspect to how a watch wears to your eye that is often overlooked. |

I did that and decided to trade it in on something else. No real problem. The Sky D was just too large for my small wrist. It would be too big on a small flat wrist as well. Really important is the wrist size.

Flat wrist?
SD43! Many people with rounded wrists hate the fit. Many people with flat wrists love the fit. |

Any 34-36mm 5d Rolex would lie flat. The larger the watch the more overhang.

So long as you don’t buy the most uncomfortable Rolex in history (SD43) you’ll be fine with any.

Flat wrists allow for thicker references. Same rules apply for lug to lug measurements. Make sure the lugs don’t hang over the edge of your wrist. A flat wrists allows you to hide thickness a bit better.

You should be fine with just about anything depending on the size of your wrist. It all comes down to personal preference

A good complement to a flatter shaped wrist would be a flatter wearing watch, say an EXP2, GMT or Daytona, IMO.
That is not to say a Sub wouldn't work, but in the end, it just comes down, as Brian said above, to personal preference. |
