Submariner vs GMT

Both in Stainless Steel

Any GMT, ie Pepsi, Batman or LN, vs any Submariner -- date, no date, Kermit, Hulk.

6 digit series

GMT can be on Jubilee or PCL Oyster

What do you ultimately choose?

Gmt for me. Color choices are better however, a green sub is a force to be reckoned with

As great as it is, the submariner has become so ubiquitous that it doesn't really do anything for me. GMT is more interesting

GMT would be my first choice because the bi directional bezel is more versatile and the dual time function is something I use frequently. I also like a date function and the cyclops works for me. Ideally, both are worthy additions to a collection and will compliment each other nicely.

I'm in the BLRO Oyster + LV camp.

For me, GMT. The extra time zone(s) are actually useful. My diving is limited to a swimming pool

Pepsi/Batman = Hulk/Kermit

Pepsi/Batman > Sub LN

Hulk/Kermit > GMT LN

GMT LN = Sub LN

Submariner vs GMT

GMT is more useful imo. But I do appreciate brushed bracelet and timing bezel.

The answer is buy both.

GMT

The sub is awesome, but as a tool watch I feel the GMT is more purposeful, less pretentious (unless you actually dive with your Sub...)

GMT BLRO for me; I use the dual time zone complication several times a day. It's also great for recreational diving, so for me there's nothing the sub can do that can't be done with the GMT, but the GMT features are more useful to me.

I can’t believe I did it. I voted GMT. The blnr with jubilee is the perfect watch, my son will have the 124060 at some point. The blnr is amazing.

I’m in agreement with this assessment. The only things missing here are the transverse properties.

Own the Pepsi and Sub LN and find myself reaching for the sub a whole lot more but if I had to choose just one def the Pepsi. Might be a different story if my LN was an LV

I have the Hulk, BLNR on oyster, and ND Sub (114060) in my collection. The ND sub probably edges out the BLNR for wrist time, then the Hulk. But I feel like I need all three.

Sub for me all day.

Surprised by outcome of the poll, as at the time of writing 62% for GMT.

Sub for me and it isn’t really close. The bezel on the Sub is far more useful than a third time zone (don’t even need to know a second timezone) and I appreciate the simplicity and symmetry of the Submariner.

Submariner vs GMT

Both.

GMT for the extra functionality ; splash of colour and that the Jubilee bracelet dresses up with a suit for those evening cocktail/dinners where a dress watch is not mandated.

I personally prefer the BLNR on Jubilee for this purpose. You can wear it with everything. Followed closely by the SubC (sans date)

Don’t like dates on watches. Don’t like PCLs.
