The “this model Rolex is better than this model Rolex” argument is stupid. Please show me a torture test between an ‘entry’ Rolex vs a classic more unjustified expensive Rolex and I’ll be a believer.

A little bit snobbish too. There is lots of room for personal preference and most of these watches are practically the same aside from water resistance ratings and clothes they are dressed in. Yeah, I know, movement complications and so on but still.

I was in what was (admittedly self referenced by them) the largest AD in the Western US. Carmel CA. Maybe they are full of it, IDK. But they had more Rolexes than I had ever seen in one place; at least 10 large display cases full of them. Pretty drool-worthy. But from a trip there, one would think that Rolex is barely in the SS sports model biz. Of course no SS subs or Daytona's. Lots of Jewelry versions. Lots of OP's and datejusts. And the customers weren't looking at the sport/professional models.

I love when dudes who drastically under utilize their prized professional pieces look down their noses at the rest of us. It's cute.

This a good point. The average person that wants a Rolex will go to an AD and purchase whats in the showroom. The salesman will promote what they have. The buyer will purchase what they think they can afford.

As a side note, at LAX Rolex has signs all over promoting Air-King.
