ROLEX HOT MODELS RIGHT NOW??? Future collectibles

NONE of them especially the hot models. Do you guys know how many of them are in the wild after many years of manufacture? It would be 10s of thousands if not 100s of thousands.

Todays modern Rolex's are NEVER going to be the same as the past ones such as the comex or paul newman.

I’d say the only one of that list that is in the low 10k range is the SD4k.

For the most part, the best collectibles are those that were common and even under-appreciated in their day. Decades ago, Rolex watches were merely a durable, high-quality timepiece that folks didn’t purchase with the intention to hold and sell later. Today, they are a luxury good and are treated as such.

Given the current frenzy for Rolex SS professional models, rampant speculation, and vast quantity of BNIB examples, I doubt that most of the models on OP’s list will ever qualify as “collectible.”

There is no other Rolex with the yellow crown and the green seconds hand.

Many scoff at it as the leftover parts from an Explorer.

However, when it’s changed and if it’s changed dramatically, especially if Rolex doesn’t do another yellow crown, who knows what’ll be thought of it in 20 years.

I flipped mine for a 216570 because I wanted a sports model. Buying one and putting it in the safe could be an interesting prospect.

I think the TT 116613 SUB with powder blue dial will be one that creeps up in value. Not nearly as many of them as a sunburst dial.
