I too was fortunate to get mine in 2016 and in a collection of 9 watches. My BLNR is still one of my favorite watches.

I can understand the motivation. And if your goal is to expand your collection, then go for it. If you think you can love the two watches as much or more than the one, then do it. If you have the slightest doubt....there is your answer.

More is fun BUT more important to me is really, really loving what I get. I have yet to ever imagine selling or trading a watch. Prefer to bite the bullet, save, and eventually add to collection.

Sounds like it will really hurt getting rid of that BLNR. Having one myself, can understand why. Keep it, save money and add another later.
This is good advice. It would be hard to get rid of the BLNR, no doubt. I've made a promise to myself that if I want a new watch, something in my collection has to go. Getting rid of the BLNR is attractive ONLY because it can afford me 2 watches

However, what might be the best solution is to hang onto the BLRN, flip my JLC and pick up the white dial OP39. I'm obsessed with this watch as of late.

So initially I was after a Harrods black bay (green) as a daily and then a Daytona C. Anyway, an odd turn of events and I managed to pick up both the white and black Daytona Cs for retail, jumping the queues ;) I’ve posted about that story on a separate thread.

But my name is still on the waiting list for the black bay! And.... I still have the BLNR!

The 5 digit Pepsi is only going one way price wise, I don’t think the same can be said for the BLNR which is more than likely in a bubble.
The 16710 Pepsi is no longer made, the BLNR is and can be ordered from any AD.
The OP39 is also a stunning piece.
Yes, I would make the trade so long as you have no sentimental value attached to the BLNR and then straight away order a new BLNR from your AD. By the time it lands you may have enough funds to buy it back new and if you flipped it again would get the Pepsi and OP39 for free!

I own a BLNR so I am bias.

But I also own a kermit. Aluminium bezel models don't have the "wearability" that the ceramics do. It's stressful because they're easy to scratch and dent and they're not really fixable anymore. I cant go to Rolex and get a flat 4 bezel for my kermit. You may hate the stress of just wearing the watch. The other oyster perpetual is just a plane jane to me. Keep the BLNR, save up for what you really want.

I would. The 16710 is classic and will stay that way. BLNR is great watch and a current buble which could deflate and burst when the Batgirl enter the scene. That white OP39 is incredible and very versatile. Good trade IMO.

I would do that trade.

I’m not a fan of blue/black colour combinations but prefer the pre ceramic Pepsi, if it could get a good one.

Would you make this trade? BLNR content.

The BLNR has a notion of exclusivity and is hard to get and a watch that is double value - you will lose that feeling, as it sure makes me happy when I look at some of the elusive watch models in my collection or on my wrist.

Also, for everyone saying take advantage of the hot market now - IMO the market ain’t going anywhere. Sure it may normalize in the short term but long term prices are going up and it will be even harder to obtain a BLNR.

If you want to trade - I would trade up or sideways towards another elusive model (BLRO, LVc, DayC or even PP or AP).

I would simply add the Pepsi and keep the Blnr. In fact I have recently done just that. I had to wait and save for it and meanwhile the 16710 prices keep climbing but I got there. Nothing wrong with 2 GMTs. They’re GREAT and all very different.

I would do that trade, or trade for a 16710 get a jubilee and all three SS Bezel inserts. Have the famous 6 watches in one.

I understand the urge. I have a BLNR that I bought back in 2016 at a very slight discount, but now that its value has skyrocketed I have been looking at my wrist thinking “would I rather have this watch or the $ that it can now bring?” In my case I’ve been thinking that I’d prefer something less shiny anyway, so I may sell and get an Explorer, so in your case I would say yes, go for the trade.
