DJ41 Fluted Easily Scratch ?

Hi guys,is this normal ? my DJ41 with fluted bezel easily scratch or easy to get dirty,i just accidentaly hit it lightly with a key and it got nicks.
however i do agree that fluted bezel could conceal it well because of the reflective design. But is it actually easy to scratch/dings/nicks ? i'm just afraid that i got DJ41 with Fluted bezel that already polished so the gold wear down as i bought it from grey dealer, thanks

The fluted bezel on my DJ41 does seem to take fine scratces/swirl marks easily.

But I can only see them in direct sun light. Focus on the fancy reflections of the facets and you can't see the fine marks.

It's gold, so it's gonna be easier to mark up.

Cheers!

It is white gold, it will scratch/dent easily compared to the smooth bezel. However that smooth bezel is a pure scratch magnet so consider yourself lucky as the fluted bezel will hide scratches much better!

I have a DJ 2, about 5 years old

Fluted edge fine, a little abrasion on edge of clasp. Will be removed when I send it for service.

Well, my fluted DJ41 is now going on 2 years old and I don't notice any scratches. I wear it almost every day. Be somewhat careful with it, nothing is indestructible.

i see, thanks for the response, but is it normal that it would get nick or ding on the sharp edge if i hit lightly on a hard surface/metal ? i'm just afraid that my bezel has already been polished by the grey dealer previously hence the gold wear down and easily scratched/dinged

if it was badly polished you would know, the fluted bezel would look melted down. if its sharp then you are fine, and yeah it can scratch really easily but you have to really look to see them

The fluted bezel is made of gold. Gold is a relatively soft metal. Polishing gold does not make it any softer. Therefore, it should not scratch more easily after it is polished.
