Looks good! Am keeping my 11 pro for now as don’t see a strong argument for the upgrade

The DD and iphone is very nice but I'm more impressed with the CGR! I never got to try one unfortunately..how are they?

Ah, a fellow cigar nut :) I've only had the CGR a few times as I still have a few loose sticks and only one full box that I've just kept intact. They really are phenomenal in every way and I can only imagine how much better they are now many years later. I thought $100 a stick was insane back in 09 and hard to believe they are 10X that now. The way things are going, the box may eventually be worth more than the DD lol

Well if it wasn't for the 12pro camera I would have just kept my 11 pro, it was more than sufficient. I think the pro is worth the extra size. My ideal model would be the new mini with the pro camera.

Any suggestions I got the same phone but can’t seem to get the quality of pics you were able to. It’s very impressive!

Again, not a jab at the OP. He recognizes good lighting in the first shot. The lighting is very flat in the second.

But my point was not so much about the OP’s ability. I just don’t see the “wow” factor everyone else is seeing from the iPhone 12 Pro camera. Camera phones with their tiny sensors are usually exceptionally good at close up pictures.

Maybe I’m being overly critical (I’m around cameras a lot). I’ll crawl back into my cave now. Carry on and enjoy!
I agree with you. Photography has become a lost art and it has become "cheapened" with the proliferation of phones and pics of food People will impress easily even though there is so much better equipment, lighting, composition out there and ways to take these photos.

I fully agree, just to underline that (in my view) most important is lighting. The following photos are (quickly) done with a $299 camera with its built-in macro, no lenses added, no Photoshop, just as taken. I doubt that the factor 3-4 more expensive iPhone 12 Pro can produce that.
