Couldn’t do it guys! I’ll be “patient” I guess.

Who knows, maybe I should be regretting that I was himming and hawing at 58k and now it’s trending toward 75k

I missed out on that watch three times before i purchased it. Each time i thought it was too much and each time it went higher. Never will happen again next time i want something im just gonna buy it the first time….it cost me an extra 15k i could have saved for other investments being gun shy. 1 life one love !!

I get your conundrum and to some degree share your FOMO. I'm on the list for the same with my AD and of course I'd be really disappointed if they discontinued it - not so much for the loss of the ££$$ that this could've potentially brought if I decided to sell it. But the biggest disappointment being unable to have another watch that I really like.

However, reality always follows the disappointment and the realisation that for every awesome watch that gets discontinued, another one is just around the corner!! And who knows what the future may hold :)

Relax, it's just FOMO. You'll get over it.

I question your ability to buy this at $39k (now).

I don’t think if I will ever go gray on any watch, but If you desire it much enough to pay the premium price then it is fine as much as you are comfortable with the payment.

So interesting reading all the responses.

If this piece is something that you want, can swing it and can't obtain it through through retail, why not? Prices have sky rocketed over the past few years and even if you've paid grey prices over the past few years(26K, 28k, 30k, 35K 40K.....), you could've been in and out of this piece a ton of times and even with positive equity.

Obviously this type of purchase decision can only be made by you. As for me, I'd rather enjoy today than wait/lust over something for months and years. @jay.premium summed it up for me. 1 Life 1 Love...:-)

Whatever your decision is, good luck.

Of course you would pay whatever market requires. Provided you can’t get it from an AD of course. But do not turn backwards, you would never know whether you gained or lost. I mean buying from an AD has its hidden cost, right? I just paid for an Omega like 25% premium. Wasn’t able to get Apollo 11 at MSRP.

Being new to Rolex I had no choice but to purchase from the grey market. With minimal purchase history I recognised that this would be close to impossible to secure at retail. No regrets, it’s a great watch!

Good for David and good for everyone that owns one, personally that an insane price and I'd never pay it. Hope he gets it!

depends on what the premium means to you and how much you want the watch.

For some people out there, that premium is a weekend away, for some people it's their annual salary. Really hard to answer that question.

For me no, I got the plat day date because if I'm paying that much I want Plat.

I’d never pay more than 3x the MSRP. So no. I wouldn’t go grey.

In my part of the world nowadays new one is 75k euro, where at the end of August was 50k.
50% price increase in 3 months is nuts.
Back in February when calling ADs some were willing to put an order for it.
While at the end of August it was not the case anymore.
I got mine at MSRP in September, so I am not bothered.

But such a huge jump in price based on some random rumors is bizarre.
