That dealer is not hurting. They have around 6 locations around Texas including the highly lucrative Houston Boutique. The cakes are a nice touch for the holidays.

Very good point. I didn’t know they had so many locations. Thank you.

Made it over to the AD today.

They now have the display pieces in the case and have removed all of the empty cases.

They are out of the coffee cakes and I’m on the wait list

Right next to the "For Display Only" Rolexes, my AD has coffee cakes with a sign "For Display Only".

Your AD has pieces that I think quite a few would be interested in they’re for sale; Polar, Explorer, BLNR, is that blue dial SkyD?

Anyhow that’s an infinite more available than the Seattle SouthCenter Ben Bridge I walked past a couple of weeks ago

All of the watches in the case are nonworking display models. The AD does not have any Rolexes in stock and they are not taking any orders for any stainless steel watches.

True and my AD is not taking any orders at this time.

My local AD has not had a Rolex on display for at least 10 months.

So, I was surprised to see them selling imported coffee cakes.

My AD is Deutsch in Houston. They sell other Watch brands, they sell a ton of jewelry and other items, cuff links for example. Why do you associate this promotion with the Rolex brand they carry? Maybe they’re trying to get people in to buy engagement rings. Maybe this is just a fun thing they do occasionally and their customers like it.

The Deutsch Family is one of the top Rolex AD’s in the US and have the Houston Boutique. I seriously doubt they need to resort to gimmicks to get customers in the door.

Does your local Deutsch have any Rolexes in stock?

Wrong. The AD is selling the same volume of watches and they’re quite happy thank you. The fact that they’re not on display is immaterial, since every watch is pre-sold because demand is higher than supply.

Your misconception is common, since you equate empty display cases to no sales. This is clearly untrue.

When I asked the SA if they have been selling out. I was told no and that they have not received any Rolexes. They also are not taking any orders at this time.

Was at Tesorini Las Vegas this past week. No Rolex watches available to sell, only display models with plenty customers filling out 'expression of interest' type forms. Torneau at Caesar Palace had quite a bit of activity going on in the private room section of the store, if you know what I mean. Pieces come in just fine but they are already spoken for.
