Congratulations, it's one of the best Rolex and more special, less hyped than the steel white dial.

Huge Congratulations

Congrats! I'm in the minority but the steel Daytonas do nothing for me (thankfully). But this WG piece is high on my list!

I traded my 500 and other watches for some PM watches. Since I bought my 500 via a gray dealer, my SA said he will get me a 500 at MSRP. I just added this in November. Welcome to the club!

I totally understand this trade. The WG OF is a stunning piece (In fact I would do the same trade for either a WG or RG OF) enjoy and good move

Beautiful watch. I’m a huge Daytona fan. Got my 500 at retail, and was promised the 519 soon. Here’s to hoping :)

Congrats OP. Beautiful watch, definition of class in my humble opinion.

Thinking of doing this.

Buttt the 116500ln white dial was my 1st Rolex. Also got married in it.

Did you have any issue with parting and moving into the 116519ln?

Why did you let it go?

I am sure stainless steel bracelet styling will last forever.
Also, how durable is the Oysterflex? will it last 10 years before they start cracking? At the end, they are rubber.
So what, just buy a new strap

Do you own both OF and steel? I do and I can tell you to describe it as you have does not do it justice. Daytona on OF is a substantial timepiece.

Ummmmmm, no.

The SS Daytona is the ONLY Rolex to have a waiting list and higher secondary value vs retail since 1988.

Also remember, if/when the 500 prices come down** that means all other Rolex prices will have come down as well (including 519).

** one must realize that if/when Rolex prices on secondary market come down, they will come down first for less desirable models and eventually hit higher desirable models. Meaning, Datejusts, Airkings, Milguass, etc will fall first. Then explorers. Then Subs. Then GMTs. Then … Daytonas. Add to this, TT, then PM, versions of the above models will fall first before the SS versions of those same models. They will come down in a LIFO fashion (Last In, First Out).

Congratulations. The 116519LN is a very nice watch, but I don't understand that the 116519 has the Oysterflex bracelet and costs 29.000€ and 55.000- 60.000€ on the grey market. A white gold oyster bracelet would make sense.

Congrats on the trade. I own both, and 519 is still my favorite in terms on dial and how it wears - definitely a different level.

Great move. RE: Oysterflex. If it does perish over time do Rolex offer a replacement? The reason I ask is if we get to a point that OF models cease production what does that mean for a band replacement in future. Thanks

Traded in 116500LN for 116519LN

Rolex will always look after current models. I don’t see the oysteflex going away any time soon. In any case the polymer is designed to last the distance.

For many of us it looks like the day we bought it

And you can wear it with anything. Such a beautiful, versatile piece. I love the heft and symmetric lugs vs the asymmetry of the stainless.

I have and love the 500.
But I think if I was able to trade to the WG OF, I would do it too.

Beautiful watch but I'm not a big fan of rubber straps. I had cheap watches as a kid and they usually had rubber straps....I remember that funny smell they'd get. Rolex Rubber is still just....rubber. As far as white gold vs Stainless steel.....well....I have both a 116509 and a 116500 and the biggest difference is the ceramic bezel and the weight. Hard to beat stainless steel and I guess that's why it holds it's value so well....often a SS version of a watch is worth more than the gold version for a reason. Not just rolex but Patek too.
