I own a 1960s 806 and I am considering a 2022 navitimer---what differences exist?
Hey, I own a vintage 1969 806 and I am looking for something more rugged and versatile, so I was considering adding a modern Navitimer. Is that a waste?
Let me explain. The 806 has these flaws, which makes the watch less versatile than many watches: 1. Lume is dead 2. Water resistance is bad. It cannot dunk, ever. 3. No date 4. Needs to be hand-wound (cannot set on a winder). 5. I can pop off the slide-rule+plexiglass with my fingernails, so I am concerned a ding will result in dial ruin. Will a modern navitimer be a great option as a compliment? |
