Olive Green DD40 Deliveries

Hey Guys—

Hope everyone is great.

Question: is the olive green DD40 even being deliverers anymore. I rarely see an incoming from AD.

Is this watch even more hopeless than a Daytona or SkyD?

Where does it rank in terms of difficult of availability? I’ve been himming and hawing about acquiring a DD40 for a while—I remember when this was a 26k watch at DSW. Yes, I’ve been here for this long.

Was thinking maybe make a go at it with AD since many here claiming things are loosening up.

Let me know your thoughts. Appreciate you guys.

Can’t hurt to try……I would say a DD has got to be easier to get than a Daytona….but it a lot boils down to spend and history and we all know that……mine had the yg champagne dial sitting in the case last year…good luck

Even though the watch market is softening quite alot as long as there is instant profit to be made there will be no change at the AD.

Ppl will still flip even if its a $1k instant profit. I've seen ppl do much much much more degrading things than flipping a watch for $50. Some ppl kill and rob for $1000.

There is "DD" then there is "Olive Green DD" whether in RG or the new one.
Very different animals!

The olive DD is the best DD and possibly the best PM Rolex imo. I think this will always sell at MSRPx2 or x3 so for sure, demand will always be high.

Lol. Dude the watch was a dog—traded around 25-30k for a long time pre ridiculousness. I love the guys who’ve been here for 5 minutes explaining the mighty dd40 Olive.

Another new member here. Dude it’s not selling for double right now. Take a gander at Chrono—many in the 70s. Face palm.

always worth trying at an AD and even with prices dropping right now it remains to be seen if it's easier to get any of these from ADs. i imagine right now it's not any easier

I feel like I’m seeing a few more AD incomings, but might just be wishful thinking.

considering the number of different combinations of day date and dials, these are always going to be in short supply.

Just some time ago

A friend of mine would have liked to order a 36 mm YG DD on a basic dial at AD. They didn't even take orders anymore. Not long ago there were some DD at the display window to be bought every now and then.

I think RG Olive dial Day-Date is one of the hot item in the last 2 years but it's still in the production. You can try to be on the waitlist and might be able to get it within one year.

We (I and my spouse) were very lucky to get 2 of them in one year.

How about the chocolate dial, is that really hard to get? On the list for the green but just don’t see it happening!
Or the full rose GMT? Where would they all rank?

This is correct. It was largely considered a dog—in cases, used after market at like 25-30k.

It was pumped to a ridiculous level here via gray dealers. This idea that it was some adored watch is not even close to true. Instagram hype created this pump.

Hopefully it becomes accessible again.

Choco motif seems to be more accessible than Roman choco.

You “hindsight is 20/20” spinners are hilarious. Funny how your next sentence always starts with “hopefully”.
Damn those Instagrammers!

Woah such an amazing comment. Thank you for wasting 12 seconds of your life for it.

Spinners? There’s no spin on that take—those are just facts.

Love the olive dial Everose combo; top of my list with AD. Watched Tim Mosso yesterday saying the white gold and olive roman dial is his favorite DD.

That is gorgeous. Congratulations. Was this always the DD you had your eye on or did it come down to this and say another model?

It’s a nice looking watch, but paying 2x MSRP is just insane. DDs are generally available if you’re willing to wait a bit. It boggles my mind someone would pay that much for what’s a pretty mundane DD, just because it looks good on IG…

I could handle 10-15% to avoid the AD simp game. Double is ridiculous.
