Mostly AD for me unless I get a good deal from a grey on a discontinued model.

i feel fortunate to have a solid collection, so i'm just enjoying wearing them. the only things piquing my interest at the moment are laughably stratospheric. i have considered doing some trading of late, and have been exploring some independents and smaller brands, but happy to be on the sidelines right now.

Nope. I have all the Rolex that I fancy. There are a couple Tudors that I am interested in.

Also interested in JLC or ALS. Looking for something that makes noise. Literally, like an alarm function.

Have bought four new rolex watches from AD's since October. Three for the kids and one for a great friend that I found during my travels just this past week. One Air King and three datejusts. Would NEVER pay over retail and one of the few good things about the economy tanking is that it wash out 90% of the flippers who have driven the market to this level of insanity. I've rarely posted but I buy these watches like they are heirlooms / have sentimental value for special occasions (most recently college graduation and a wedding), to be enjoyed and passed down, never sold.

Buying wherever has what I want. But mindful of risks of paying over retail.

Only been buying pre-owned vintage privately although I’m on the AD waiting list for a couple modern pieces…

I still think most Rolex fans are buying what they want if they can get it from an AD at retail price.

Bought all from AD. Waiting on two watches to come in and then mostly done with Rolex unless they come out with something new. Not going grey so will be patient and wait like I have been.

AD for current models and I’ll happily wait until available. Grey for a couple of older/discontinued models, but not recently.

No interest in buying grey. Got 2 from ADs in 2020 (TT Bluesy, OP41 yellow) , none in 2021 (asked for Pepsi and DJ36 fluted blue dial) and hoping for one this year (DJ41 mint).

Yes, I purchased before the craze and will continue afterwards. I have two (Skydweller & OP36) on “interest list” with my AD now.

Just got back from a trip a week ago where I was presented something I couldn't turn down at my AD, so I guess that answers that.

Waiting it out. Very fortunately to already have the pieces I truly like. Also not interested in buying at absurd asking prices.

Well for me I prefer buying pre owned watches from private enthusiasts like me, the prices are lower than that of an AD.

Totally this. My wants are specific high end SS or PM models. My AD keeps me in mind and if I have to wait, I'm resolved to wait. I have a very good purchase history, but competing whales I'm sure get priority. The waiting is frustrating but that's the market.

I bought a five digit watch used because it’s discontinued. I don’t think that qualifies as “grey”. I have basically no interest in anything Rolex is currently producing - with the exception of the new 36mm Explorer. I thought about getting in line for one of those but I’m holding off because of other priorities (kids college) and wanting an IWC next.

For me, it is AD or nothing. I don't have to buy anything, I can just enjoy what I have.
