Opinion Wanted - Trade In Rolex Exp 2 Polar for AP RO 33mm

Lads,

I am getting a bit tempted to Trade in my Exp2 Polar for a AP 33mm Blue Quartz RO or the Nautilus 3900. The main reasons are as follows:

1. Add AP / Patek to collection. I don't have any AP's / Patek's at the moment
2. The watch is really slim and I can wear it 24X7
3. I have a 16.5cm wrist so a 33mm with Lug to Lug 42 would look ok.

I know its a quartz and I am not fussy about having an automatic movement. The other option is I might go for a 36mm Automatic AP RO.

Please let me know your thoughts on this

TIA

Going to be a HUGE difference make sure you try the AP on first and actually are happy with
It I wouldn’t suggest buying without trying on - if you
Still wanna make the trade go for it :)

The 36mm day date moon AP is a good option since you’re considering that size. More expensive though.

How about the Parmigiani PF micro rotor?

AP Royal Oak 36mm 14790 automatic or AP Royal Oak 37mm 15450 automatic.
Forget 33mm quartz.

All of the things that make AP special, none of those are in the 33mm quartz....

I think it's OK to trade Exp2 to AP but I would rather go for 36mm minimum (not 33mm).

Value wise I would not do this.
Looks wise I would not do this
Daily wear wise I would not do this

I appreciate smaller watches, down to 36 ok. But 33mm is very small…you should be able to find a good deal.

If you absolutely are sure that is the watch for you then your question is answered before it is asked.

Agreed..
36.5mm to 39mm Royal Oaks are a great fit for 6.5”-7.5” wrists…
But the only quartz watch I would do this trade for would be a Patek or Rolex Beta21 or a 18k OysterQuartz Day-Date…

Yeah, I am too rethinking the AP quartz. Might go for the Patek 3900/1 33mm Quartz.

Honestly, I would not do the 3900/1 at 33mm either.
I was referring to getting one of the Patek or Rolex Beta21’s or OQ DD’s instead in the $13K-$25K range.
But that’s me…

I wouldn't buy a particular brand because I didn't have a watch from that brand in my collection, but each to our own. If you can flip a watch you don't want and get one you do want and will wear and enjoy it, you only live once and the Explorer will hopefully go to a home that appreciates it.

If you have to ask a bunch of strangers, maybe that's your brain's way of trying to tell you that you haven't convinced it yet?
