I don't get this, people want watches to be more expensive because they offer so much (more)?

I liked the speedmaster best when it was a 3-3.5k watch. Not a 7k one. I want to pay less and have more money in my pockets.

It's a compliment to them for what they deliver at the price point relative to their competition. I didn't say I wanted to pay more.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Big value add to the thread.

IWC Aquatimer 3536 01, better than my Sub in many ways, 2000M water resistant, fantastic bracelet which is adjustable without tools. Was a watch ahead of its time.

I bought A Lange & Sohne as my dress watch but it turned out that I wear my D-D more often than ALS when I dress up. I think I preferred timepieces with bracelet over leather strap.

Just like it is hard to say you love one child more than another, it is hard to pick a favorite between my Datejust 41 and Grand Seiko. Ironically no ever comments on them but I get lots of questions and compliments on my Helberg CH1.

The most important chronograph in history.

One is the most important chronograph in history (Speedmaster Moonwatch) and the other the most desired chronograph.
I'll take the Speedmaster.

Your own speedy didn’t go to the moon though… that’s like me saying my 124300 is the most important three hand watch in history since it’s the descendant of the first waterproof/dustproof watch.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Big value add to the thread.
Relax.

Sure, I agree. The Speedmaster is and was bang for buck, especially at the prices of 3-4k I was talking about (new and used back then, even better at 2k usd used). But imho, that was the price it should have stayed at (not taking inflation into account and rising costs).

A lot of brands aren't delivering at the current 3-4k prices as Omega did. A lot of 2-3-4k ETA/Selita/... are not well finished movements like the Speedmaster.
