Input on a potential trade?

Usually I wouldn’t bother posting up trades and just go for it but I’m a bit torn on this one.

I want to move on my dd40, I’ve had it a few years and worn it a lot and fancy a change (plus I could probably get a new one from AD within a couple of years so not irreplaceable).

I have quite a large collection, including a white gold day date so I would still have one in the collection.

I very much like this Daytona, and have the opportunity to add one.

I’ll be up front with pricing the price of the Daytona is £47k it’s a very good condition 2019 model.

Now offers for watches aren’t strong at the moment (cash wise) and although you will see day date 40s selling for around the £40k mark this is not what I could sell it for myself and I expect to lose a few grand here or there in a trade to a dealer it’s no biggie.

So I’ll actually be trading three watches for this one, my dd40, and two air king 116900. (I have two air kings as I bought one a few years ago on top of the one I already had, when they were still in cases to try and build a purchase history, didn’t work btw lol)

So with what I originally paid for these watches (none of which I’m afraid I will miss at all I might add)
I will be into the Daytona for about 10 per cent over retail considering what I actually paid for them.

I guess It’s not so much about the watches as I know what I do and don’t want, it’s the value aspect of it. What do you think guys?

Here’s my day date and the potential Daytona.

Since you have another Day-Date in the collection, and it sounds like you will not be out any cash with the deal - I say do it. You are getting another PM in the collection, and that Paul Newman dial is so good!

Not crazy about the DD TBH. I wouldn't wear it either if I had the WG meteorite.

The AK's...even less.

The Daytona, however, is a heart stopper. (IMO)

I'm not at all sure about the money part of the transaction, (can't be bothered to calculate pounds to dollars lol), but as far as what I would rather have in the collection...it's a slam dunk. I say trade approved, my friend.

I would do that trade. Move stuff you aren’t wearing for something you will.

Both watches are ultimately replaceable, so long term, if you regret it, can always get new ones.

So...go for it, do what makes you happy in the collection!

I’d take that Newman dial over that champagne sticks any day. And if you miss the AK’s, you can pick up the new and improved 12 series.

Do it!

I’d say do it. Love the DD but based off everything you stated I would say do it. Love that Daytona as well.

Not for that particular Daytona. I've opined many times here that I'm not a Daytona fan. But, if the one you were trading for, was the one with the green dial, then I'd be all over it. Best of luck in your decision.

I would 100% do this as I think the Daytona is the nicer watch. Love the contrast of the sundials.
