They did offer to send it to Switzerland so it’s my fault
This was a few years back and the knowledge just wasn’t available
I kept it for a while but the doubt was always there

All part of the game right? I know I’ve given plenty of stuff away in the past. Hindsight’s definitely 20/20.

I wish you the best of luck out thrifting in the future though! I’m glad to see there’s more of us here than I imagined. I’m grabbing coffee and off for my weekend rounds right now.

Deceased estate you say? uh huh, so let me guess, you paid in cash so there is no receipt? Riiiiightt....

I mean hey mate, if you have some proof lets see it. Otherwise, your claim is as genuine as the dial on your 'red sub'

I picked this Vintage Rolex up from a deceased estate.

Can't believe this find.

I am not looking to sell this watch.

Serial is 1011xxx.

Any idea what year this 5513 is?

What Mark the bezel is?

What is the value of this watch head alone in today's market?

Many thanks,

Tony

It even fooled a member on the forum by the name of Mansell92 who was making me offers to buy it. That is why he started the thread. He wanted to know if it was legit. Easy with the accusations. If you bothered to read other threads you would know wiser.

Anyway, i'm not fussed at what price you paid and frankly more power to you but your prior history of selling questionable items should be flagged.

enjoy the watch.

Cool Junk

Not so much with watches however Ive found loads of dismissed cool junk, I trawl demolition sites, skips, charity shops and E-bay. a small 9ct hunting horn broach purchased for £5.95 sold 6 months later for £75, for me its all about having an eye for these things and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, I also reinvest my gain into other worthwhile item's.

It’s called business and if you have the knowledge ,which can be priceless , you will make a good living
I have ID a colt 1851 three swords and half a dozen bayonets from friends who have bought them at boot fairs today
I give the trade ,retail price and what I want to pay
I have bought all of them
Be honest
