Grail qualities. Might have to update my Aquanaut request in that case

I'm with dchang81, what is really the difference? a date window surround that was there on the green steel version? The movements are/were already updated to 330's.
Just up the size? God I hope not as the 5711 is perfectly sized, the 5168 is too big, don't do the same to the Nautilus.

Perhaps they will bring it with the micro adjustable version of the clasp which is on the ladies Nautilus? But that doesn't warrant a whole new model number.
I agree the 5711 is a perfect size, I also really hope they don't blow up the case size like the 5168, but I think that's the most likely outcome unfortunately... maybe a 42mm PM case 330mvt new clasp. it must be a case size change to warrant a new reference number, or maybe it stays 40.5mm with no date?

Or maybe they do Jack squat and slightly tweak the metals, clasp and movement then raise the prices 5-10k. I don’t believe for 2 seconds there won’t be another steel 3 hand nautilus. Maybe not this year but it’s coming.

The "obvious" line extension is a 42mm WG green/blue travel time. There's 5167->5168, 5968A->5968G, and now 5164A->5964G.

Not sure how credible, but found this quote on the website of a Geneva-based company that helps its customres source rare watches. (Link: https://k2luxury.ch/watches/brand/pa...tilus/5811-1g/)

"The NAUTILUS name has become almost a brand and this is the new Chapter of its bloodline. The king is dead long live the king ! After a 15-year run, Patek Philippe shook the balance of the watch world when in early 2021 it announced that the 5711/1A will be discontinued, And to bid adieu to this sporty timepiece, a final version of 2 references shall be produced in an extremely limited quantity, and only for one year, the 5711 Saga comes to an end, taking a bow with the 5711/1A-014 and 5711/1300A-001 Green dial versions.

After saying farewell to the mighty reference 5711/1A, Patek Philippe introduces 5811/1G, the livery this time to start is in white gold and not steel, the emblematic design wasn’t changed much, as the saying goes in French “we dont change a winning team”.
Slight bigger case from the previous 40.5mm to a new 41.5mm, newer 3 piece case structure but of course similar rounded octagonal shape of its bezel, Calatrava cross styled clasp as the latest Nautilus models and the movement is the upgraded caliber 330 SC seen on the last 5711/1A as well as the two green dial limited production.

The new 5811/1G-001’s signature color is of course blue and very similar to the vibrant blue of the 40th anniversary Nautilus. The dial pattern is true to its origin horizontally embossed, epitomising the sporty-chic sports watch since 45 years."

As said earlier a WG electric blue successor of 5711 wouldn't surprise me in the least. We may not see another steel three- (or two-) hander until the 50y Nautilus anniversary. Not excited about any upsizing as 5711 has certainly been large enough for my 6.6" wrists.

I just got off the phone with Thierry.

The case will remain 40.5 mm.

As i've been saying for almost the entire year, there will be a new calatrava with the larger case and exhibition caseback.

A complete shame. Kills the legacy of the 96 references, which IMO need to stay 37mm (max) and keep the classical charm of a closed caseback. Larger is not better in this case.

Does it come this year or next? I don't know, but it will come.

If the size change is indeed true; Patek is really going against the trend here since a lot of watches have been downsized lately. Especially when the 5711 has the perfect size and height IMHO. Why mess around with something which is almost perfect...

I was never a fan of the watch size explosion, and in sport watches, I still think 42mm is my firm max.

However, as someone who’s experiencing the eyesight degradation that comes with age, I do appreciate a modest upsizing of complicated watches (especially PC and PCC). I get that the 5270 at 41mm is too big for people with smaller wrists, but cleaning up the dial and upsizing from 3970 and 5970 has made it easier for me to read and enjoy.

A 38-40mm Calatrava might be nice, as long as they kept a smaller size available.

My watch already does email. That’s as “smart” as I’m going.

Aquanaut three-hander back to two sizes, 38 and 42. Based on release of the new quartz ladies version and the 5168. Expect to see more metals for the latter.

So if the Nautilus renders are true, then this seems like a technicality on the "no more 5711" decree.

I’m still thinking the 6119 is the replacement 5196 but maybe the 5227 will be rehoused in the new 5226 Clous de Paris case along with possibly a travel time function working from the crown? That would be nice.

I'll be visiting the AD next week. Sure would be nice to get a 5164a. I hope they remain.
