Going to Vegas

Headed for a quick trip tomorrow, going to a conference. Which watch should I wear? GMT LN, SD43, IWC Portuguese? No, this isn’t an “is it safe” question, no I won’t be bringing overly friendly “ladies” back to my hotel and won’t be leaving it in the hotel safe. I’m leaning GMT LN.

Question 2: Not going to waste time visiting Rolex stores, nothing to see. Anyone looked at Tudor though? Still want to see a new Ranger. Maybe check out a SeaQ. I’ll have limited time, staying at LINQ by Caesar’s. What watch shops should I prioritize?

Thanks! Anyone else here going to the NACS conference?

Vegas

My wife went last month. She said Bucherer/Tourneau inside Caesar’s Palace / Forum shops was really nice. She called me because they had lots of vintage watches in stock. They are an AD and had standard display models. They should be a Tudor dealer also. She knows I am always looking at interesting stuff and Bucherer must have been well stocked because she wouldn’t bother calling me regarding a basic AD with no inventory.

And no, she didn’t buy me anything this time!

Since you’re staying at the linq. Closest in proximity to you would be Tourneau at Caesars forum. I have never bothered wasting my time there.

Crystal’s by the Aria has a Rolex boutique, they’re quite friendly there. Also have an in house Watch technician from Rolex WM school in Lititz. There’s an RM, PP, and AP boutiques nearby as well for laughs.

The Tudor AD at Aria are okay but they never have any of the hot models on display.

Watches of Switzerland at the Wynn has the largest boutique in town. They’re also quite professional there. Luis is a long standing watchmaker that has been there for a while.

Right next door to that is the actual watches of Switzerland store with a Tudor section. Last I checked they had all 3 Tudor rangers but the hot models are not on display (No pro or P39 or PMN)

Now if you happen to be at the Wynn, the Venetian is within walking distance and they have a Tudor AD at Horologio. Very friendly there and have seen them display hot Tudor models like the Pro, GMT & 58 (when they were hot), and new Rangers

Have fun in Vegas. Also before you ask if it’s safe to wear your watch in Sin City, just know if you’re doing a whole lot of “anything that happens in Vegas, the watch just might stay in Vegas”

Thanks! I saw Horologio in a Google search, thought that would be a good one. I’ve been to that Tourneau and had the same experience I’ve had at every location, not good. I won’t walk in one anymore.

No plan for wild times, I’m in tomorrow and out Monday evening.

GMT seems like the obvious choice to me.

Doesn't sound like a fun trip!

Hope you get a chance to try on a SeaQ. Both Tourbillon Boutique and Horologie carry Glashute and in my experience they both have great customer service.

I saw many Tudor when in LV three weeks ago. A few had the silver case, and you should have good hunting for other models too.

Could be said of every airline CEO today. Pre-deregulation airlines competed on quality and safety. Today airlines compete on price (safety being mandated by regulating authority or they would skimp there as well).

I know I'm a little late, but my only advice I was going to give you was to find a different hotel... Visited some friends that were staying there and it was a s--- show on the casino level... even for Vegas. How would you rate it this time you stayed? Hopefully it was better.
