Incoming 5270p green

My AD offered me the new green 5270p, and after some time considering this significant purchase, I decided to go ahead. My AD still had a salmon from a client who paid but didn’t pick it up yet, so could compare these two beauties. I was stupid enough to turn down a salmon a year ago, mainly because of a concern it is too big. The 40mm 5970p is my favorite PP in my collection, partly because of the perfect dimensions for my wrist. The 5970 salmon is my grail, but so expensive that I doubt I will ever buy it…

Comparing the 5270p salmon vs green. The 5270p salmon has a more traditional/classic look. The 5270p green is younger and sportier imo. The dial is less cluttered, the font more modern. And the lacquered fumé green is just exceptional. The salmon looks like a more complicated and frankly like a more expensive watch. Could be that the green doesn’t age as well as the salmon, but a risk i am willing to take. For now, super happy with my purchase.

Would I still want to add a 5270p salmon to my collection? Definitely. These watches are very different and both spectacular in their own right.

Perfect choice and I would have done the same in your position. The green is truly mesmerising in person. Congratulations :-)

Congrats!!! I've turned down the salmon many times...to me it looks so much better in pix than it does on my wrist. Literally did nothing for me at all.

Love the green!!

What an amazing image, I’ve never seen them side by side before on the same wrist. Thanks for sharing!

Congrats, a beautiful purchase! I owned the 5270p salmon for a few months and wasn't overly in love with it, will have to see this green iteration in person.

Never noticed the new font. Much more legible. The hands are also different. I think I prefer the old hands better.

Congratulations, the 5270 is a fantastic piece in general and the green dial is just stunning.

I guess in a rotation with other watches, it should be a continually renewed pleasure to get it back on the wrist.

Wear it in the best of health!

Green, Salmon, both equally stunning

I’d be happy to have either. Congrats on a epic incoming

I love the comparison shots as it makes me appreciate the 5270p green over the Salmon and I really like the salmon.

I guess the green lacks numbers for hour markers and the sticks look really clean.
The lack of a Tachymeter scale also clean up the green.
The sword hands on the green also look more modern than the salmon tear drops

The number fonts are different too with the more modern numerals on the sub dials of the green.

Thanks for posting the photos as I wouldn’t have noticed the differences had they not been side by side

Congratulations. Great choice. Yup, 5270 Salmon is my fav too, but I would take the Green with no regret.

But, if money is no issue then I gonna take both, ;-)

The dial looks like it was made in heaven on a Sunday. I need to get my PP soon so I can celebrate it here. Congrats on your acquisition

Love the Patek perpetual calendar, what a classic piece. With the green dial, it feels very different in a very good way!
