Just call me old fashion, senil, decrepit, whatever.

I can't help it, for me GMT rhymes with Sports and Sports rhymes with Oyster and Oyster screams 7836 on a GMT, so I do applaud OP's move!

I wanted to do the same with my BLNR, however, how can I justify paying $4,000 for the 97200 bracelet? It's the price of a Tudor Pelagos 39 watch vs. a bracelet.

I've been contemplating for years and still can't justify paying this much for a stainless steel bracelet.

The cost to brush the PCL from a watch maker is $120.

Do you suggest brushing the PCL or paying for the 97200?

Thanks

No criticism from me; brushed Oyster always on a GMT-Master of any flavor.

I’m sure this will trigger the purists, but this was my plan from day one (I would still have done this if I had a 116710 to gain the glide lock and lose the PCLs). I love the jubilee and have to admit it’s a bit more comfortable, but the stealth look of the oyster fits my current lifestyle a little bit better.

I did the same with my Batman but I used the oyster bracelet from a Daytona. Has the satin finish and easy link buckle rather than the glide lock. Glide lock is far more versatile, but I love wearing it like this.

Now get a Bergeon 2290 and you will have a brushed oyster looking like new forever .(Dark grey part on the Bergeon)

I like it a lot! If I were lucky enough to have a Batman, I too would prefer the oyster. Well done sir!

If the bracelet was otherwise identical, I'd say just brush it in a heartbeat. However, if you wear the watch a lot while you are active, you are getting Glidelock, and that's a huge upgrade, IMO.

How was this done again. I tried swapping my bracelet from the 116610LV to the 126710BLNR but the holes on the end links don't actually line up.

The bracelet is from a 116500LN (which I wear on an oysterflex; black dial with the black oysterflex). The pin holes line up, BUT I’ve used off market pins that are skinnier. It is not an exact fit and there is some exposed lug but I love it. I am fortunate to also have a Pepsi 126710BLRO which I’ve kept on the jubilee.

I could brush a bracelet in 5 mins and then polish it back again in the next 10 mins. How large would my testicles be then?

Point is, it's no big deal.

The PCLs would kill me. Love the all-brushed look on the GMT. It also seems more appropriate for the rugged & utilitarian vibe of the model.
