This is a most informative thread with awesome community input. Buy the seller. This seller has been “un-bought” by many.

Success indeed.
I fear the "seller" will continue using these sales tactics.

Could have simply been avoided if AJ was honest & transparent in the first place or just simply took the watch back. What does AJ stand for anyways? A joke. That’s it. A JOKE.

Best outcome for you apart from a few $$’s and a lot of wasted time and stress.

Worst outcome for the seller.

Glad this had ultimately a happy resolution OP!

Two lessons to learn here...

1. If you're a buyer, buy from a Trusted Dealer or use pay protection.

2. If you are a scumbag seller who gets caught being a jerk, realize that the $1,000.00 you were trying to scam, likely just cost you potentially hundreds of thousands in sales from any member of this forum doing a search on you before they buy.

I was checking out Ebay and Chrono24 for a BreguetXX. AJlikeswatches has one and as I googled him, this thread came up. Once you try to pull the wool over someone’s eyes you’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t restitutie the money. His reputation is screwed as far as I’m concerned. New=New as in, no scratches, dings or any other signs of wear. It takes a long time to built a good reputation, gone in one second.

This entire clown show could be avoided easily. Just buy from A+ sellers on this forum. I mean, everyone seems to post on TRF when issues arise with silly sellers, why not just buy on TRF to begin with?? Takes two for this to happen: an unscrupulous seller and a buyer who doesn’t give enough of a darn to figure out reputation before wiring $10k.

well, sure, if you have AMX (or whatever credit card) with ENOUGH of a credit limit to cover the cost of the watch

If you’re a glass half full kind of person you can say it worked out that you didn’t pay $11000 for a watch that’s currently selling for $8600. Glad it all worked out in the end though

Glad that you had your money back OP!

To AJ watch :
Authenticating a watch is to protect your own ass from buying in a counterfeit. It has nothing to do with ensuring your clients get an authentic watch. Stop sugar coating your services when you can’t even properly describe a watch’s condition(or are you just trying to con unsuspecting buyers?). Piss off!

Scary to think how many people probably just took the hit on the "restocking" fee and moved on with life. Many times Buyers are reluctant to cause a stir or are uneasy or embarrassed about possibly losing the whole amount or being stuck with some expensive (to them) that they're unhappy with.

Personally, I would not normally care about the blemishes. But if I made my wishes known as you stated, and relied on the listing (underlined areas are pretty explicit as to "no" scratches, etc.) then in my opinion seller should have not apologized and not charged a restocking fee. Pulling for you in small claims.

Ordinarily a year old thread has limited value.

But, having read the number of members who benefited from the OP’s warning,
…and the fact this thread shows up highly in Google’s results,
…we do well to keep it alive as long as it pays dividends for those who are unaware of the ripoff fee…errr “restocking fee”.

This is a great thread - I didn't realize it's a year old. I'm glad the OP got his $$ back.

I usually check this section out from time to time as new sellers seem to arrive all the time. AJ clearly won't be getting any of my money, EVER. It makes we thankful for the great sellers I've interacted with from this forum.

Special shout outs to the follow fantastic sellers I've had the pleasure to deal with:

davidsw
TAKUYA
