Nice surprise today

Hi everyone - lurking for some time now and recently started posting!

Thought I would share my AD experience today.

I had dropped off my DD40 several weeks ago for warranty repair (losing a few minutes a week). I did not purchase my DD here but did get an RG YM40 in Aug of last year. No purchase history and just a few visits in the prior months to check their wares. I got to know the SA and she told me she could place an order for me for the YM - but that it could take several months. It took less than 2 months before I got the text. I wear the YM every time I visit, which is about once a month. I’ve made smallish jewelry purchases here and there but nothing that would make me a VIP.

Fast forward to yesterday when the AD called saying the DD was repaired and ready for pickup. So I dropped by today. My SA goes to get my repair and also comes out with a box. It was a silver dial DJ36! She asked if I was interested and I said of course. It’s clean and classic and is my first 36mm piece.

She also shared that the new ordering system is in place, they are catching up on pre-existing orders from the last ~year but she anticipates being able to place new orders soon.

Best part was also getting some swag, a Rolex golf umbrella!

It really is nice to hear positive experiences like this. Congratulations on that sharp silver DJ36…it is a nice, lighter alternative to your DD, which is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing!

Yes agreed and thank you! They are a relatively new AD in the area because the former AD lost their license and closed up shop a few years ago. I don’t go in with any expectations which has really helped in this crazy market.

The DJ is so easily overlooked and under appreciated.

Thank you! I thought I would have preferred the fluted bezel but love the smooth and silver stick dial combo for its simplicity.

Congrats!

That DJ 36 is a very nice alternative to your two gold pieces. It’s a great under the radar and sporty watch.

Wear in good health.

Is it ridiculous that I’m more excited about getting the umbrella?

Thank you!! The YM is a great because it kinda flies under the radar for a RG piece. At least I think it does.

Thank you! I personally like the WG Olive DD vs the RG. It’s flashy AND stealthy.
