I wouldn’t buy from Australians cause they are British and Irish convicts and the watches might be stolen

To extend surfing and shrimp grilling hours, Australia has a 28 hour day (14am & 14pm). So to answer your question, no an Australian Daytona wouldn’t work in the US, the Australian version has 14 dial markers, not 12.
I made that mistake on a cheap Australian Rolex years ago, hopefully this saves you from repeating my error! |

I am praying you have a genius sense of humour. If not I find it truly terrifying that someone with enough money to buy a Daytona at grey prices is asking this question.

I live in this lucky country and have worn my Daytona on allot of holidays around the world including US and Europe.
It works fine, should you have any problems I would be more than happy to take it!

Your suspicions are correct. It will run backwards. It takes a bit of getting used to but you'll learn to compensate.

Buying from Australia is safe, they only sell high Koala-ty timepieces down there.

Would an Australian Daytona work in the United States?

Living in Australia I do notice that when there is a full moon the three sub dials on the Daytona spin anti clockwise. This can cause damage to the sub dials.I would mention this to
your gray dealer and ensure he warrants the watch especially the sub dials . |

Australian watches need to be lubricated with kangaroo piss... so you may have problems during your service..... |

Most reputable ADs have a SH to NH trade in program. Usually around 2-3k to get your watch swapped to the version required for the hemisphere you're in. A note is they won't let you swap for different dial colors. For example if you have a black SS Daytona you can only swap to another black one and each swap must change hemispheres versions.
