I hate this.

Not a design flaw, but certainly looks like one.

If you think changing the date on a GMT is annoying you should come set my Precision Oyster Date's, no quick set...takes about 10 minutes to go up 15 days. Sometimes I want to wear the watches but the dates are so far off I just wait.

When I set the date on my '95 Coke it's a relief to be able to just run the hour hand around. Only complaint about that is the crown is kinda thin...can be hard to screw back in sometimes.

The only real thing I hate about Rolex is deciding if it's safe to wear one, depending on where I'm going.

I wish the case back was sapphire crystal so I can admire the Rolex movements.

Me too. I know that's viewed as heresey around here, but Rolex makes beautifully durable movements and it would be cool to see it work.

Nah.
I've come to like it. The Yachty had it as well as the Pearlmaster which was the one that first turned me onto it.
It's quirky and interesting on the 116600 and 116660, as well as being different

Other than that I can genuinely say there is nothing about the other 4 that I dislike. Literally nothing!

I would agree 100%. But, those older models feel light on the wrist and are quite comfy.

The biggest weakness in Rolex watches is the lack of AR coating on the underside of the Crystal (I like Rolex and the quality …but a lot of Rolex enthusiasts only talk/seemingly know about AR on the outside of a Crystal on non Rolex watches and complain —-head buried in the sand mentality! or they don’t know because they only see Rolex through beer goggles)

The lack of AR on the underside of the crystal makes for a cloudy glare on many, if not most Rolex watches.

When someone sees a Rolex watch on a person, chances are they will see a cloudy glare often on the face of the watch. Give me a break with regards to the so called “ sparkle”??? It’s like a reflecting mirror from WWII in battles. Is that what want people to see?? A cloudy glare as the face of the watch?? NO.

Nah I like that people to see a clear beautiful dial

They fixed this with the SD43

I would say the way Rolex makes it difficult to use straps with their watches, such as the Datejust series.

I also have no clue why they refuse to have display case backs. I would love to see the movements on some of these watches.

The poor lume on nearly all of their watches. Simply no excuse for that.

Any lately the commoditization of the brand and the baggage that it carries. Having to look over your shoulder when in questionable areas.

I know it’s on your BLRO because of the picture you posted in the other thread. That’s great for you!

My sense is a big majority of watches owned by the forum members do not. As I understand, many Daytonas, day dates, some djs and recents subs and very recents gmts….

It’s not on my Dj41, but is on my brother’s. I can definitely tell and agree with you. Hoping I can get mine swapped when I send it in for service.

This is the same as my 1675 GMT. If it is more than about a week late I just let it sit until the next month and wear my Sub or Exp II. I tried once when it was about three weeks off. I moved the date up about a week and gave up. My fingertips were sore and I didn't think it would be great for the watch.

Same. Dial glare is a scattered mess. Haven't seen one with underside AR yet so maybe this is better now.

Indexes and lume plots are too basic for $10K+ on many models.

One thing you hate about your Rolex!

These “first world problem” threads crack me up.

Relatively affluent and privileged people whining about expensive watches that >99% of the world population can never afford.

This is an easy answer for me.

For me its the whole process of servicing and doing an overhaul on the watches that I hate the most. I hate how you're without the watch for weeks at a time, sometimes even longer than a month.

I hate how service costs seem to INCREASE year after year rather than staying consistent, so servicing the same watch this year and then again in 10 years, that same watch will cost a lot more for the same work.

I hate how sometimes when you get the watch back, something is wrong with it and you have to send it back again.

While I fully understand that its inevitable and necessary, I ABSOLUTELY HATE having to send my watches away for service. Even just mailing them to the watchmaker bothers me, how even with registered and insured mail, its still not 100% safe to get there and back in one piece.

Sounds like you need a 12 series Submariner (or a DSSD if your wrist can handle it). All the on the fly adjustment you will ever need
