$2900 over retail for a new 124060

Would like to get feedback from you all as I am not a seasoned watch purchaser.

Is $2,900 over msrp for a 2022 unworn No Date Sub a good deal?

Do you all see the watch market dipping further or rebounding in the near future?

It’s a good deal if the person willing to pay that amount thinks it is.
I would not.
I see 25+ yr old models going up and most modern models going back to MSRP or less.

Just because its a good deal, doesnt mean its a good seller.

As the old saying goes, buy the seller, not the watch

I have been eyeing the 124060's on the market for some months now and found that they have been stabilizing in the 12k's with some known boutique sellers selling for 13k and up

Just buy from one of the great sellers here. You’ll get a fair price. Consider a 14060.

Do you feel that $12,600 is a fair price for an unworn 2022 No Date Sub?

You know what the 124060 retails for, so never mind what anyone else thinks is a fair price because it's your money. So, do you think it's a fair price?

For a brand new unworn 2022, I think it is a "decent" price. I'm seeing pre-owned's going for the same price. I could be patient on the list and keep my fingers crossed or pay the mark up and enjoy life with the watch now.

I'm just trying to convince myself lol.

So if it's worth it to you, and you can afford it, then why deny yourself the enjoyment now rather than later, especially if you feel it's a "decent" price?

Any number equal or above MSRP will never be a good deal IMHO. I would never ever buy any watch at MSRP so even a cent above is out of discussion for me.

Then I guess you'll never own a Rolex because I highly doubt you'll get one below MSRP these days.

No.

If I want a watch I check to see if I want to spend my money and decide. I am buying watches.

I spend my days analyzing the world financial markets. that is where I make my money to buy watches.

First thing is the Submariner is a great watch and an Icon from Rolex. Second, the price is fair in the secondary market and if you are comfortable with the seller then the conversation we are having is about money. If you have the money, love the watch and are willing to pay, then what are you waiting for? The SS Submariner could be a lifetime piece and is definitely a cornerstone to any Rolex collection. Within reason I have the resources to purchase most watches and once I am informed about the market and find a Trusted Seller to work with I buy my watch and move on to the ownership experience. Get off the fence, get the watch and wear and enjoy it. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Absolutely not an issue for me, I already have one (and I never wear it, BTW) and had a total of five during the years.

Why not contact all the local AD's in your region? It might take a little while, but at least you can get it for MSRP. That's what I did and it took less than 3 months to get one. This was 4th quarter 2021.

My nearest AD told me 2 years for a 124060.

Did the ADs in your region allow you to be listed over the phone or did you have to go in and set up an account?

You can find prices all over the Internet to help you decide if the price is in the ballpark.

Condition is paramount.

Yes it is.
Market is like the stock market. Short term, who knows? Long term it only goes up.

I have visited the storefront (I ultimately purchased from) in person several times over the years, but when I decided on the exact model wanted I called and told them. They called me 2-3 months later and said they had one for me.

2,900 over sticker for a no date is not a good price, they’re selling BNIB on Moda for close to 11. Learn to have some patience, in a few months you’ll regret being impulsive and burning extra cash for no reason.

2,900 over sticker is about 11k if I’m not mistaken?
