Love me some vintage rootbeer!

Although not vintage, I’m a fan of all root beers.

Now that is interesting! I always thought this reference was first introduced around 1979. Jocke if I may ask, can you please provide the first few numbers of the serial number? Rolex does not provide any specific records on release dates so probably not unusual. Definitely has the newer movement compared to a 1675 as shown by the hand stacking order. Just curious…

Stunning watch and gorgeous photo! Can I ask what camera/lens you used for this?

I have a close cousin to yours from a few years earlier. Do you know if there was ever a period where both bezels were offered? Or was it always two-tone for the 1675 and always solid brown for the 16753?

Sorry I was wrong it's from 1979 with serial 601XXXX

Here I have use a Nikon D700 with a Nikon 105mm macro lens. What I know so is the all brown bezel insert only for the gold model.

I have a 1675/3 too that my Dad gifted me. I can tell you that as far as Rolex is concerned the all brown bezel is only for the all gold version 1675/8 or in Jocks case, with the 3075 movement, the 16758. In fact, Rolex will not even sell an all brown insert to me because I have the 1675/3. I tired just a few weeks ago through an AD. Seems like they would have sold me an all black one but whatever…

That said, I have heard, on this forum of course, that the dealers would put whatever insert you wanted on there. I would believe that as mine had an all brown insert too. I know my father was always quite fond of the all gold version—aside from the cost. At this point he is not sure what was originally on it.
