Rolex James Cameron DSSD …. what to do

I have been waiting almost two years for a James Cameron DSSD from my AD. This afternoon I get the call to say that they have one for me. However it is a 126660 reference model and not the new 136660 model announced in March. It struck me as somewhat strange that, with all the shortage of Rolex, they are still selling a now discontinued model. So my conundrum is do I take the watch offered or ask that I pass this for the next 136660 model they receive. What is the wisdom from the forum?
As it is a previous model should I cheekily expect it at the pre increase price?
Probably chancing my luck on that one

You expressed interest in the 126600 two years ago and they supplied said watch, what's the problem?

i'd take it. it's the watch you requested 2 years ago when you didn't know there'd be an update to it. no reason to expect a 136 today and unless the 136 has something that's a total dealbreaker, take the 126

I would take it.

There hasn’t been a single incoming of a 136660 on here. None of my ADs have received them yet either. They are still getting the 126660 in.

Do you have others to enjoy while you wait? If not; take it. Negligible differences. Who knows when they will have another.

If it bothers you, then don’t take it.
Otherwise, go grab it and start enjoying the watch!

IMHO, the 126600 has a more functional clasp.

Wait... why would you not take it? You asked for one and now you will tell them no? That will be the last call you get. Wasting the AD's time imho

Come to think of it, that's sort of true but there has been about 2 separate reports of a friend picking one up.

To reiterate what others have said.
You ordered the 126660 a couple of years ago and a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
The price is the price so being cheeky about it may lead to embarasment and you having to pay grey prices
Besides, if Rolex hadn't re-jigged the DSSD for the 136660 you wouldn't be asking this question.
Do you prefer the 136660 over the 126660 for some compelling reason?

The price is the same of 136660:
The increase in price has been for all the models, and not
for the new ones.

New doesn't mean "better".
126 JC is a beast. Elegant and ready.
Where's the first five?

They got you the watch you wanted. If you no longer want it they will sell it to someone else.

From what I understand, the new SDDS has a revised clasp that removes that nifty adjust feature (which I don't know why Rolex did that).

As long as the older reference model is a brand new watch, I would actually prefer the older reference.
