Hi from SoCal

Just thought I'd check in. I am on several forums and found this via a post in another forum.

I own a GMT II and a SD. I also had a Sub, but sold it to a buddy who really wanted it. All of my watches were 2002 + models. I hope to learn a lot more on here about Rolex.

You have a GMTII and a SD? Hey I got the GMT II and had the darndest time decising between it and the SD. I thought the fact that they had the same band and face colors that there would not be enough of a difference in them to justify. Tell me how you came about deciding on them so I can understand where my logic failed!

Well, I work in the aviation industry and also when I travel decided on the GMT II black bezel( also, it was the only watch I liked in stock before the price increase in Dec03).

I got the Sub as a between, and it was too much like the GMT II with the date window
And, since I dive sometimes and also wanted a bullet proof watch I decided on the SD 05 and got rid of the Sub to pay for the SD.

I am also thinking of getting a red/black bezel for the GMTII to make the 2 I have a little different.

Welcome to TRF, Spyrish. Nice to have you here at our merry madhouse.

Glad you got the black bezel GMT. That is THE BEST (and I don't care what JJ says ).
