Discount on Datejust

What are your local dealers discounting if at all on in store stock? Looking to add a stainless DateJust 41 black face oyster with fluted bezel to my collection. The watch is in stock at the store and would be my 6th purchased from this particular dealer. They say 5 %..and can easily be ordered if it wasn’t in stock. I figured I could get a better discount. My salesman says now that the Rolex’s are getting in demand..they don’t (or won’t) discount like they used to..thoughts?

My AD laughs at the mention of discounts.

Take the 5% and say thank you.
Waiting lists for DJ41 around here and you don’t mention the ”d” word

5% seems reasonable, but I am waiting on the blue dial fluted on jubilee from a seller here. The DJ41 at local AD said 6-8 month wait. Hope to have it Monday from FedEx and didn’t have to pay CA tax.

I think you’d be lucky to get any discount from ADs these days. If you can get 5% I wouldn’t push your luck much more.

This past week I was offered 5% off on a TT gold/stainless DJ41 with silver dial, fluted/jubilee. I have yet to encounter an AD willing to offer any sort of discount on the SS/white gold model (36 or 41).

My ADs have said they are prohibited from giving discounts on any pieces including PM.

Great looking watch! I was told the other day at my AD that DJ41s are essentially allocated watches now so I think getting any discount is a great deal right now.

OP. Great watch, but, not of the point.

OP: I got a discount
Others: we have been told no discount so be happy with what you got
OP: Yea? I got a discount, here’s my watch

Uh. Not exactly. List is 9250. David SW wants 9075. AD is already beating the grey on pricing. Rolex is not the watch to buy on the grey market these days.

This statement is great after a year or two of everyone abusing the DJ & there in all the AD cases bla bla - now look Rolex has you fools begging for these now. They are beyond brilliant let me tell you.

Sales tax is another 900.00 ish, here in Louisiana, which is where OP is, so the DSW price is out the door

FWIW, I was recently offered 5% off a 126200 DJ36, and it was made clear the offer applied only to 36mm models.

My AD hasn’t given any discounts at all for awhile now. I was trying to get 5% off a Millgaus and they said no

Some dealers give discounts, some don't.
It is all about demand and if the dealer wants to make a customer loyal to their shop.

I got a 10% discount on Explorer even though everyone said it is impossible.
I also check the prices on Davidsw......my AD got me a way better price.
I paid 6200usd on the brand new Explorer......David sells them 6800-7500 usd!!!

Congrats on the purchase, OP!

DJs have become in demand because there is no ss model stock and, also, because of the new movement with 70hrs power reserve that the new DJs have. I was also tempted but choose the Explorer instead....
