The last of my current watches to leave even at current values would be the 116500.

Blnr. I use the date and GMT function, whereas I rarely use the chrono function.

Coda: I had not worn my Daytona for a long time as I’ve been loving my Pepsi GMT and SD43. But this thread got me thinking about it and I broke the Daytona out today. I must say, it never fails to wow me when I wear it. I do like having a date on my watch, so the Daytona is more a weekend watch for me. But it’s so gorgeous. I guess in my eyes the Daytona is more jewelry where the GMT and SD43 are more watch. As for buying one vs the other, I don’t think you can go wrong no matter which you end up with. Love them all.

Daytona
For the fit and overall look Not keen on the pumped up GMT’s - prefer the older ones ever though the BLNR is the best modern gmt option Rolex do. |

GMT is more useful for me and a much more legible dial so I’d go for the BLNR even though I prefer the BLRO.

I would choose BLNR for GMT function over chronograph which I rarely use.

I’d pick most other modern Rolex models over the batgirl! And to answer your question, definitely Daytona over the bargirl!
Now if you’re talking about the 116710BLNR then I would pick it over a daytona!

I'm fortunate to own both and out of all the watches I've owned (many) they are two of my favorites.
I wouldn't give up either, the Daytona White C is drop-dead beautiful to my eyes and like someone said above. It's like wearing a piece of jewelry/art. But with that said, I find my BLNR more useful and tend to wear it often. Easier to tell the time, date function and jumping hour hand along with the GMT function are more useful to me, plus I think it's a great looking watch in it's own right. Mark |

I own both. Daytona is a beautiful watch but BLNR is a much better everyday watch for me.

If I had to pick between those two wonderful watches it would be the Daytona. The Daytona C with white dial is a very special watch. If it were a black face Daytona id go BLNR.

The complications on a BLNR are more useful than Daytona for a daily and I really like the 116500.

It really is all about how useful the complication is to you - both are beautiful, great timepieces.
I love my BLNR to death as I travel constantly, and run a business in a different timezone where I live. It's my favorite watch I've ever owned, and I'll never sell it. The Daytona is a great looking piece - I don't own one, but I do have a Speedy moonwatch. While I love the watch, I get irritated at its lack of date. It gets wrist time, but marginally compared to my GMT. Get the complication you need. If neither, get the piece that calls to you most. |

Black Face Daytona weekend.
The leather strap I had made for it is growing on me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not taking into account for the crazy resale value of the Daytona but just watch vs watch ... I would take the BLNR without even batting an eye.
Much better looking (my first criteria for decision) and way more useful. A Chrono will always be a second, third or fourth watch to me. The stationary large sweeping second hand of a Chrono bugs me ... I just like looking down at my automatic and watching that hand cover the dial. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I owned the Daytona briefly and it was a bit too small for my needs and I need a date window. The new BLNR 2.0 ticks all my boxes in movement, style, and versatility.
