The thickness is the same but the end link to end link and lug to lug dimensions are smaller on the 126660.

The SD 43 actually has slightly larger dimensions than the DSSD.

That review was of a dummy pre production model. Tim reviews the actual DSSD JC in this video. Thickness is 17.8mm at the very middle of the domed crystal.

I wanted to add some pics to rest any worries about how thick the new DSSD really is. It’s not nearly as thick as some think because it is on a 44mm sized watch. On a 40mm watch would be a different story as it would be out of scale. It might be interesting if we had a proportional formula to plug in the numbers to give a real world extrapolation scale.

If I could wear a 44mm and thick watch like either of them, I’d go with the JC Deepsea. Really cool and fun looking dial with the colors.

+1. The modifications to case size from the 116660 to the 126660 are substantial as to the dblue’s wearability.

One of each would be optimal, but then again I'd own own of every damn Rolex since I really love them all.

I love the black dial as well, but have only seen the D-Blue in person 1 time (AD owners so I didn't want to start comparing both extensively) but I did ask him to get me the D-Blue, which should be here in December. I'm also afraid that if I do find the D-Blue more appealing, I will definitely miss the black. A part of me doesn't even wan to see the D-Blue in person again because of this, but a part of me does.

Personally I would wait for the JC thats because I love the blue gradient dial. They both are awesome so for me it would come down to color. I say go with your gut because you will still end up with an awesome watch

I have a black sub and YM42 so the D-Blue adds a little spice to the mix. The dial is stunning on the D-Blue, the blue changes in different light. Love everything about the DSSD, size, look, feel.

Trust me, the blue one loses its appeal after a while...The black dial is the most iconic manly dive watch out there..the blue dial is gimmicky...

Keep in mind that on his trip down the trench, James Cameron wore the black dial Deep Sea......

You waited 2 years and 5 months?...Ive never waited for more than 3 weeks on any Rolex including the Daytona white dial ceramic. Wow

D-blue, if you like black dial, a regular sub or sea dweller would be better
