“Bruce Wayne” no longer batgirl!

I’m coining the nickname “ Bruce Wayne” for the new jubilee Batman. We owe the brand the respect it deserves first of all, and there is nothing girly about this watch. Haters will hate whoever doesn’t own one will call it that. I love this time piece. The perfect refinement of a classic every day beater. The Bruce Wayne is my new favorite watch, shines at every angle and super comfortable.

So please pass this on and start using the nickname Bruce Wayne instead of batgirl.

I don't think anyone feels the batgirl is girly?

Only name trolls consider it fitting and are actually on board IMO. To a real WIS it’s simply BLNR on Jubilee or 126710BLNR

If people could simply decide that a new nickname is replacing the old one, I think the folks who hate "Batgirl" would have changed it successfully by now.

Although, I suppose the battle isn't really lost until "Batgirl" works as a search term on Rolex's website.

How about calling it a BLNR?

I don’t own a BLNR, but to me it’s obvious those with the oyster bracelet version started “batgirl” to somehow in their minds protect or increase the value of their watches.

I don’t like the nickname batgirl, or Bruce Wayne. But batgirl still kicks ass.

One cannot force a nickname. They just happen. Remember the “Fat Lady”? She is quite the reference.
It’s not about hating. Relax and don’t take it so seriously.

The more you resist “batgirl” the more it will be fodder for rabble rousers

Batgirl is not a bad nickname tbh

It’s BLNR 2.0 or Batman 2.0.

I wish I could agree. Someday I really believe I will qualify as a ‘real’ WIS, although I haven’t yet sat the exam so don’t have my certificate, I feel like I’m making steady progress.

I simply dislike the jubilee on the BLNR (and the BLRO for that matter). I think it looks wrong in every way. On the older 5 digit references as much as on the 6. It has lost its ‘sporty-ness’.

And yes, I have seen it in person, and I’ve even tried it on (shock horror), and I’m still not converted. Actually, I feel even more strongly about it than I did before.

It seems to me that a lot of those who have purchased it on jubilee are becoming very sensitive over a silly nickname. Who cares? Wear it, enjoy it. If it bothers you that much complain to Rolex’s official nickname department, I’m sure they will take appropriate action. Or, just buy a more manly 116710BLNR

P.S. Was my use of reference numbers correct and accurate - I’ve been practising

I agree with Matteo E.

One of my friends has the BLNR on Oyster and I first heard the “Batgirl” nickname for the Jubilee version from him. This did not dissuade me from purchasing it when I had the chance. It’s my first Rolex and I absolutely love it; so I don’t care what people call it.

Whatever you wanna call it, I still prefer the 116710BLNR! That’s the original and real beauty on oyster bracelet

I find these threads amusing, especially when owners take umbrage against the batgirl nickname. Seriously, who really finds it important? ALL the nicknames are stupid, that's why they're nicknames. Is calling a watch a monster name, or a ratty puppet's name, or a comic book dude more honorable than a comic book chic? Lighten up.....

Oh, and in full disclosure, I have a batgirl.

Perfect, great thread to see a bunch of grown men getting their knickers in a twist. Batgirl is a suited nickname for this watch and yes if one was available from my AD id buy it.

It's a men's watch, batgirl makes no sense.
I understand some ladies like to wear the men's Rolexes, but it is
still officially a men's watch on the Rolex Website...
I like either BLNR 2.0 or Batman 2.0.

Who cares? Batgirl has stuck and I certainly don’t find it a derogatory name.
