Welcome to TRF Kieran regarding your question first finding a Daytona at list price is going to be hard to do.With some long waits from Ads,and grey market prices are still very high over list price.Anything at this present time Daytona will sell without any problems. Now most of the Rolex sports range, tend to hold there resale price a bit better that other models. But out of all the brands out there, Rolex seems to hold there price better than most.

Welcome to TRF, kieran There is a large price difference between the two models you've mentioned. I would have to say that the Daytona would demand a higher resale value than the Datejust. Good luck in the acquisition, and do let us know how it turns out

Hi Kieran,

Welcome to TRF. The TT Daytona is definitely cheaper and easily available as compared with the SS Daytona.

By the same token, resale value of the TT is not very good; so if you plan on buying one, then you might have to decide to hold on to it.

Cheers - JJ

Well, my friend, if this is your very first Rolex, then I'd sugget an AD. There is a lot of unnecessary hype about the SS Daytona...a watch which is worth it only if you can get it at LIST Price - not at a premium!!

If you decide on genuinely keeping the watch, then there are some superb TT ones to choose from with an array of different dials. Also, the ADs would be more flexible on discounts with the TT model.

Good luck and do keep us posted.

Thanks - JJ

If I were you, I'd buy a BRAND NEW TT model....but you must decide whether you want to keep it or not.

While the SS model is very attractive, I'd much prefer the TT with all those solid gold links and the SAME 4130, 44-jewel superb movement.

JJ

Yes agree with you and myself would buy the TT anyday over the grossly overinflated S.Steel grey maket prices.IMO the TT is a better looking watch but myself not a huge fan of the modern Daytona. But saying that I have just been offered a S.S Zenith Daytona at a very good price.Although not a fan like I said, myself prefer the 6263.This Zenith one, maybe is to good to turn down,I know my youngest son would love it.Now in the UK you can pick up the TT Daytona for list if you can find one.

Love Dublin! My wife and I stayed in one of the dorms of Trinity College the last time we were there. We have friends in County Donegal, and spend a lot of time there when we visit!

What's the matter? Don't you know where you are? Check your plane ticket. If it's used, you're there. If not, you haven't left yet.
