Hi Megalos and welcome to the mad house, the cornet down at the 6 is not easy to see. There will be some folks along who will be able to tell you how to see it. I personally own mostly vintage hence no cornet! :o(

Welcome to TFR To solve your problem we first have to establish were or from whom you bought the watch. Rolex Dealer? Private? eBay?, etc. If not from an autorised dealer, did it come with box, papers, original receipt? If you bought it from an AD, the coronet is there, no worries.

Hello, Megalos. Welcome to TRF.

(You'll have to excuse Goodwatch. He's dyslexic - and he doesn't know how to spell T-R-F. NOTE TO FRANS: Try to change it and you're dead meat. ).

The laser etched coronet is quite small and usually can only be seen with a jewler's loupe or similar magnifying glass.

Do post some pictures of your new acquisition.

Hi Megalos,
Please let me also extend a very warm welcome to...T-R-F! LOL!

Congrats on the LV!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!!! It's a great watch!!!!!!

The coronet can be extremely hard to see. Try going outside on a sunny day, hold the watch almost flat at eye level and slowly turn it. A loupe works a lot better.

Welcome Megalos! I am new myself but this place is excellent! Just an FYI - A freind of mine has a fake LV sub... the date is horrible, the bezel only clicks 60 times for one revolution (should be 120 clicks) but it DOES have the coronet on the crystal... so that is NOT any sure sign if it is real or fake.

We all sincerely hope that your LV Sub is authentic, preferably from an Authorised Rolex Dealer.

On a genuine Rolex, the laser etched coronet is virtually impossible to see with the naked eye. Hold the watch under a reading lamp and then use a 10x loupe to view the coronet etching at 6 o'clock on the crystal.

You should be able to see it.

Good luck - JJ

If your LV was bought at an AD, then of course it is real! Like I said, the coronet is found on FAKES too! Although if there was NO coronet, then certainly it would be fake (for newer watches anyway)
